First off, thanks to Zo for all the help. This map is for 4.09b-1m due to the use of some objects.

V3 files are now released. Water now responds correctly when shot, bombed, etc. (Ian Boys, watch this space! ) See screenshot below. I strongly recommend uninstalling previous versions and installing V3.


Map must be run in "Perfect Mode" for all changes to appear as they were intended!



Excellent Mode

However, I realize some users are running in "excellent mode". The following gets the most out of the map while doing so. Thanks to Zo for the suggestion.

If you set camouflage to Summer .... water is normal but default skins for vehicles and planes are summer ones. This is a workaround only and unfortunately cannot be changed.

To use this map in "Excellent mode" open tab_wload.ini (notepad) and edit it
(gameroot\MODS\MAPMODS\maps\ardennes\tab_wload.ini)

[WORLDPOS]
CAMOUFLAGE = WINTER [color=orange]

And here are the "Museum" music files configured for IL2:



Just unzip them and put them in the appropriate "samples" folder. Make sure you have them turned on!

Very Nice

For some reason this map is not loading. Do I understand correctly that this should replace the default Ardennes winter map? When I start a mission I still see the old map (frozen rivers, white trees). I used the auto installer to install the map and my mapmod all.ini shows both the standard and the tab_ardennes_w map listed.
Do I need to open the mission in FMB and reset the map?
I would prefer to have the new map simply replace the old.

Thank for all that work

To have this one remplaces the default one, simply rename "tab_wload.ini" in "wload.ini" and make sure you have a "Ardennes_W Ardennes/wload.ini " line in your "all.ini" file.

I have a trouble : rivers seems all scrambled, out of their normal path, with bits in forest.

Looks like the map_c is corrupted or something like that

I don't know how to post a picture, I hope I'm understandable.

Does someone have the same problem ?

...ok i have quick fix until author decide for new version

those are default ardennes (map_c.tga & map_c.tga_table) files .... rivers looks ok with them :

1 extract to temp folder

2 put mods folder into your game root ( overwrite files )

to nothing .... leave it like it is

those files only replaces tab_map_c.tga and tab_map_c.tga_table .... to get rivers like on default map

To Murph, "tab_wload.ini" have to be renamed in "wload.ini" in order to have the new map instead of the original one.

don't do anything if you want to have both the original and the new Ardenne winter

Bluesword, thanks for the quick response. I understand that I need to rename the line in order to replace the map, I'm just not clear on what it should be renamed to- in other words, how should the line read after I rename it?

Tabs download link has been removed.. Anyone?? :?
We now have a fix, but no map..

This is what yo got in all.ini txt when istalled tab map
tab_ardennes ardennes/tab_wload.ini
change it to:
ardennes ardennes/tab_wload.ini

just to make sure to have Tab_flettner's ardennes remplaces the original one, have a file "tab_wload.ini" in your "map/ardennes" folder and a copy of the same file renamed "wload.ini" in the same folder and at least a line
"ardennes ardennes/wload.ini"
in the file "all.ini"
For good mesure (in case missions for this specific map came out one day) put
"tab_ardennes ardennes/tab_wload.ini"
too.
