The Aviator Mod Team presents the Spitfire L.F. Mk.XVIe

This is the first mod to be released by the Aviator Mod Team! This pack represents the Spitfire L.F. Mk.XVIe with the bubble canopy, which appeared in RAF service around late 44/early 45. With the Luftwaffe barely coming to the fight, these aircraft switched from the interceptor role to ground attack. Some units even armed these aircraft with 2x RP-3 rockets on zero-length launchers. With the Packard-built Merlin 266 engine, clear view bubble canopy and clipped wings, this represented the ultimate Merlin Spitfire variant and is undoubtedly one of the finest piston fighters ever produced.

Information

This Mod Pack includes 4 variants, Full wing and clip wing bubble top spitfires, either with 18lbs boost or 25lbs boost.
Canopy can fall off at speeds over 250 kph TAS so do not exceed this whilst flying with it open.
Download is an automatic installer, please point this installer to your IL-2 Sturmovik Directory Folder. Further, more detailed information is provided in the installer.
air.ini, plane_ru.properties and weapons_ru.properties will have to be manually added. (Please note depending on your game install they may not be in the same location as the readme file states, but the majority will be).

Installation Instructions

Download the Mod from either Filefront or Mediafire:

DOWNLOAD SPITFIRE L.F. MK.XVIE PACK (MEDIAFIRE)
If you are NOT using UI 1.2, HSFX 4.0 and above or UP 1.8 and above you will need this mod as well! The Spitfire L.F. Mk.XVIe in this pack use the 50 cal weapons from the P51s in UI 1.2. Thanks to Wolf and the team for weapons and SAS_Cirx for the extraction. You can download this here: http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,1496.0.html (Click on the link which says "Download WeaponsClasses (22KB)", file downloaded is named: "SAS_WeaponsClasses_4_Sound". To install just place the folder named "1v SAS Weapons Classes" in your MODS folder. Please delete the US_Weapons_AAA_UI12 folder if you have installed that previously.
Start Installer and follow instructions.
Install new buttons file. You will find this in most cases here: "...MODS\STD\gui\game\buttons" The SAS buttons Version 3.7 and above will work. (http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,97.0.html). For those running HSFX 4.1 or below please download this buttons file thanks to Howlin (http://www.filefront.com/15213245/buttons/). Buttons files with these FM's included will be added in due course for UI 1.2 and UP.
Add air.ini, plane_ru.properties and weapons_ru.properties entries. (You will be prompted to do this at the end of the installation by the installer, I have provided a copy of these entries here as well for your convenience)

Known Bugs that will be fixed in due course:
4xHispano 3D does not show up in aircraft selection page due to game limitations
Cockpit internally is not quite correct
A few LOD problems still remain but nothing substancial(i.e. something disappears at a certain distance or isn't quite right)

(These will be fixed in a later patch after New Years)
