Right. I'm thinking of making the EE Canberra B.2 for 1946. What does everyone recommend I use? And if I can't do it (coz I'm hopeless), who volunteers to make it should I fail?

Unless you got a version of 3ds max, use another program called gmax (Which is just an older version of 3ds max)
