I currently try to use Il2's EAX sound support on a Creative X-fi extreme using Alchemy on Win7 64bit. It seems to work fine but there is a strange and disturbing sound effect on under 500m altitude. All sounds are played as if hearing them very loud inside of a bathroom, even if the emitting object is around 2 km away.

So, is EAX worth the troubleshooting and have I overlooked something important here? thx Wink

Hi SoulFlight,

my card is a "Creative X-Fi Titanium" and all is right.

Please try to set in the Creative Driver "System Control" (don't know the name right in the english driver version)...:

EAX : max +2dB

X-Fi Crystalizer max: 66%

Regards, Gerhard Big Grin

Thanks for your reply, but somehow I don't get it right. Setting EAX to max +2dB also activates a preset of selectable rooms and puts an echo effect to all my sounds even outside the game.
should it be a feetback-problem?

For example: Soundcart output goes to "Tape-input" in your Amp.

At the Amplifier you have selected "Monitor"...! Or...:

For me (long time ago) the Soundcart was connected with the

3,5" cables to the Amp and connected with the "in/ out" SP/Dif

optical-wires to the Sony DTC 60 ES Dat-Recorder.

The NF-cinch wires was connected from the DAT-Recorder to the Amp.

I had the echoe-feedbacks from the DAT-Recorder over the Amp...

hope it will help you, good luck, Gerhard Big Grin

(I know, my english is not so good!)

No, the only appears when EAX is switched ON in Sound settings. I think it has something to do with setting up EAXS correctly to work with IL-2, or the EAX provided with IL-2 is somewhat buggy. In-Game, EAX is applied to sounds below some 1000 ft ASL. I understand what they were trying to do but to me it sounds like a bathroom down there...
