could it be possible to make a mod for both versions of the N1K1 "Shiden"
why ?
the plane is already in the sound mod yes i know but there is a bug, there is no supercharger and you can't modify mixture too in both N1K1 and... N1K2 since sound mod installed
try it and you will see mixture and supercharger are not working well
i know the sound mod do this because if you try with the CRT2 sound mod version, everything is functionnal...
the idea is to make a separate mod like the russian U2 with a D3A rear gunner...
who can do that ?

I would like to know if it is possible to seperate out from the game the Full mission builder and make it a stand alone program.
This program would not need all the bells and whistles of the game mechanics as its sole purpose would be for the creation of missions.
It would need all the maps, aircraft, objects, etc that is found in the FMB in the game but the advantage would be in the theoretical ease and speed of loading it up to create missions due to the reduced size. This would enable mission building to be done on any size computer without having to down load the whole game.

Skin is of course vpmedia’s
Made my own airfield, set takeoff and runway points. Also set some TAXI and STAY points and made a test with an AI. It worked fine - AI landed and parked at stay #1, where it supposed to stay.
Then made a test with 2 AIs (in different slots) and something strange happened - AIs started disappearing when taxiing to their designated stay points... What's that? How to make all this work right?
I'm trying to make my own compilation of sounds from the different versions of SoundMod. I guess I may use some samples from elsewhere too but I haven't done that so far, I've been using only sounds from various Soundmod versions.
I may (and probably will) upload my compilation when (if?) I get good results, probably a long time from now, but before I do that I have to actually get some good results.
My problem is that I find difficult to recognize sounds played in IL2 when I listen to them in a media player (gun sounds often sound completely different), so I would really appreciate if someone could post a list of aircraft with the sounds they use (filenames), possibly including the filenames for files that aren't included in Soundmod too (if my guess that simply adding the samples wth the correct filename and in the right place, the game would load them)

After sorting out all my hardware issues (thank god) and managing to get me Microdem and all srtm files (with 56k connection), finally can start with this (long time wished).
Many thanks to Clockwatcher for excellent tutorial and of curse to map tools creators
so far managed to sort out map_c and map_h ...... textures are next ....
