Tailhooks? - duffys tavern - 22.11.2007

Wondering, with all these amazing things taking place, would it be possible to add a tailhook to other aircraft? Maybe a Hurracane or J8A, to make a carrier version?

- VT-51_Razor - 22.11.2007

THAT is something I would gladly pay for!! Put one on the P-80 for a little Korean War scenario! Big Grin

Great minds think alike Duffy

......and while we're at it, just pie-in-the-skying it here, how about looking into a way to make a catapult work on the carriers?!! I realize that this would most likely be way too deep in the code of the game, but if somebody ever does find themselves wallowing around in the muck of the code for the V-1, maybe they can figure out how that thing accelerates off the launcher, and apply it to the catapult track of a carrier. I see it happening something like the way you attach yourself to the TB-3 while in an I-16. Taxi up close to the catapult track and hit the key to attach yourself to it. Run the throttle up to max, and hit it again to release, and WHAMO!... you're off to the races! Big Grin

Well, a guy can dream can't he?

This is an excellent idea...Hurricats and Sea Hurricanes...awesome!

I am totally against modification of existing aircraft and against "frankenstein", but for a minor change like that, I am not against, quite the contrary ...

- VT-51_Razor - 22.11.2007

Yeah, it would be cool, but probably one of those things that we'll never see. Cry

instead of the J8A, how about something hardly used, like the MkII Gladiator... you know - the three bladed jobbie

C'mon mate.. That's having your cake and eating it! ... Think about that statement. 'I am totally against modification of existing aircraft', and then in the same breath..'I am not against, quite the contrary'..
You can't have it both ways now can you. It doesn't make much sense.
The mods here will not allow a monstrosity to be down loaded from this site.. The 'Battle' that has been created from the Kate is a fair representation I reckon.. Wev'e been using it in a British Skin for some time now for just that reason.. It also stands to reason that adding the front end has improved on that theme.. No-one has messed up its FM have they..

To my mind, you are either for something or against.. You can't just pick and choose the 'little' bits you think are ok..

I would love the addition of a sea hurricane or sea gladiator.

Maybe even a JU-87R or a 109T Confusedhock:. Or am i going of at the deep end?

- RAF_Loke - 23.11.2007

A 109T? Why not the Graf Zeppelin to go with it then Big Grin.

Frankly said, that would be awesomeness. Confusedhock:

- Trooper117 - 23.11.2007

Mmm.. The Graf Zeppelin was never completed was it? I seem to remember somewhere I read it was just scuttled and never saw any type of operational service?
