can some one please take a look at fixing the P-51D and P-51C\B\MKIII panels and mirrors to them? pictures below!!! use mirror from hurrican MKIIB :!:
i have seen pictures of P51s with custom Mirror setups at airshows! be nice to have mirrors on the P51s in the games

Very nice
as a p 51 flyer (in IL2) i really like that it would be good to see if someone is on your tail and not just see when you see the tracers fly bye

Mustangs were often fitted with spitfire mirrors. These would be a better choice I think.

perhaps just one - like Metatron said, a Spit-mirror would be best - just the wee round bugger... but then again this could almost be seen as a cheat....

BUT: You'd have a mirror on your '51, but others dont. Stock - it isnt in the 'D' model, and people are aware of this - adding something like that could constitute a cheat

pardon my ignorance but you'll fly that mod online only on mod allowed servers ...yes? So everybody there have opportunity to get that same mod . Like track IR , not all players have it but its available for all to get one . No disadvantage here ...

See properly in our six just make the game more realist, not a cheat :lol:
Touching FM to fly at 800km/h with a P51, it's a cheat.

the 51 can fly a 800kms in a dive ut it breaks up around 860 if i remember correctly

I suppose it all depends whet you want out of it. If you want all the P-51's to have mirrors like your screen shots in the 1st post, I'd say NO every time. Go fly Lomac if you want mirrors like this, it's a modern jet thing just as HPD says.
If your looking to add mirrors to the P-51's in a historical sense, then it's a harder question as they did and did not have them. They certainly did NOT fit them in the factory!
There is a fair bit of photographic and written evidence to show that a small number of USAAF P-51 pilots added mirrors to their aircraft. Sometimes Spitfire mirrors, sometimes motorcycle mirrors. There's even a photo of a well known P-51D "Ridge Runner" with 2 mirrors, looking like Spitfire units, fitted to it.
RAF Mustangs were a totally different deal, after all the RAF boys didn't stop at just adding the mirror from their Spitfires or even the Malcolm hoods. They swapped out the Allison motor for the Rolls Royce Merlin. And most importantly, they had access to the parts.
All up I'd still say NO, as they were never a factory item and they were never fitted in the field in any significant or co-ordinated way. If the huge majority of USAAF P-51 jockeys never had mirrors why should we?
BUT if someone's gonna do it, and no doubt someone will, do us all a favour and make a decent job of it. No modern jet jobs or star wars crap please.

In real life, pilots changed their mirrors to a different type because they believed they would have a better chance of survival if they could improve their rearward view... Did their fellow pilots call them 'cheats' because of it.. of course not!
Why is it every time someone mentions or would like to see a change to the sim that is historical, someone here or on other sites starts moaning about cheats?? It's doing my flippin head in now..
