Askania EZ 42/1-A1 - Metatron - 04.12.2007
The Ta-152C and Ta-183 are fitted with this lead computing gunsight. Oleg and his team however were unable to find enough info in these, so as they are in the game they function as regular reflector sights.
Seeing the latest development with the late Spit models being fitted with the Feranti gunsight, I was wondering if a modification could be made to some of the late war german machines so that their 'decorative' gyro sight could be made functional.
I haven't found any pictures of this sight turned on, but maybe with some research this can happen.
Here are some photos of the german gyro sights for your pleasure. Note the wingspan indications of allied aircraft, similar to the practise used on it's allied counterpart.

excellent Idea! Don't see why the basic innards are much different from the Mustang or spits sights.
Why not use them! 8)

Amazing images! Im a gunsights fanatic and its the first time I see a color photo of the EZ-42. Any more?
The idea of enabling the gunsight, based on the Msutang gyro sight files is really great. Both sights had the same principle based on gyroscopes and wingspan sizes, so this mod should be historically correct.
I suppose that maybe the reticle was like a resizable Revi sight, but who knows..
Looking forward to see some progress.
Tnx!!

YO - this seems to be indispensable after the late Spits got their Gyros - great idea, mate ! And perhaps this will fix the gunsight of the Dora too.

When you click on the link, you will see in the menu to the left 'Revis'... That will take you to a series of pictures on various German sights, including the EZ-42.. I thought it might be at least a little relevant for anyone interested...

We've got the 3D Model, we've got the function, it should be doable! I hope. At least the 183 and 152 would deserve it.
- deMolay - 05.12.2007
Ta183 as also Ta152 has not the same relevance in multiplayer-missions as for example D9 and A8 - for my sake, all of them could have the EZ 42, but we should focus mainly on planes of averagely most used planesets, I think... look at all the online servers - you will find Spit IX on almost all western front late war scenarios, but where you can find a 152 or even a 183 ?

Yep...We need new gunsight for the Anthon-8,Anthon 9 and Dora-9 /both Early and Late/...
We fly only them!
In online wars we rarely fly the 183 /lol actually it's impossible to see it in online war planeset/ and the Ta's...
