Request: Arado AR196 A-3 with Wheels (maybe relative easy) - Vector - 11.04.2008

I looked at the Arado Ar196 A3 today in the game and then i thought it may be relative easy for the modders to just change the Seafloats against Wheels.
This would make it a Plane with weels which is startable from normal runways.

Why?

- Bee - 11.04.2008

Best thing to do would be to buy a copy of CFS3 and make it flyable there.

Those who know anything of ww2 aviation will know that the 196 didn't operate with a wheeled undercarriage. They will also consider it an absurd waste of effort and an affront to the whole idea historical accuracy. I very much doubt anyone with the knowledge and exerience would bother themselves to produce such a thing.

One of these though might be a different story:

...I'm presuming that you wish for a 'wheel' function for ground spawn on dogfight servers...?

I saw some arado with wheels but i dont remember  what type it was but it looked like this arado 196.

Even if you did stick wheels on it, without changing the FM the plane would just land in the water anyway. Also the wheels would not be deployable.

- Vector - 12.04.2008

I think i confused the Arado 196 with another plane which was mainly used as floatplane but with wheels too. I saw photos one time of a plane very close looking to the Arado.
Now i checked the history of the Ar196 and it really looks like there where no ones build with wheels.
So forget it, it was just an idea (and i must admit i use planes in offline campaigns in non-historical roles).

err guys what about this??? That needs some things to be done to the ar196 but i'm sure ranwers can do it. It will be given a new slot and FM anyway once the model has been done properly, unless they don't want to make it.

- ILV_Aquila_Noctis - 13.04.2008

Doesn't seem that difficult to make either....Gladiator with that engine Ranwers used on his Hs...maybe?

- Bee - 13.04.2008

Or maybe just the early single float version of the 196. It's very pretty...
