French Wings 1940 -1945: Like No Other Pilot - vtrelut - 22.06.2008

Hello guys,

I just uploaded a bunch of new campaigns, available at M4T:

http://www.mission4today.com/index.php? ... ls&id=3424

It is also available at Combat Ace.

68 years after the June 1940 truce which sealed France's defeat against Germany, they are back!

Douglas DB-7, too few, too late:

In Syria and Lebanon, another oil war takes place - yes, a war about Iraqi oil, in 1941...-, and you must defend French territories:

In Lybia with the Free French:

In Algeria and Morocco:

Some fratricides combats would - unfortunately - make victims among the allies:

Despite their American origin, the GC II/5 Lafayette did fight fiercely against the Wildcats of USS Ranger on November 8th, 1942:

The enemy is sometimes very solid and doesn't show any anxiety even after taking a lot of rounds from our guns:

Let us rejoin them in these unique air battles!

More than 2,000 missions, up to 120 campaigns assembled in 15 careers, a lot of new content, and an exclusive plane set, never seen before in IL-2: you will fly first together with the RAF, and later you may have to fight against the RAF... Just an example of the few oddities the French are capable of.

My purpose is to offer you a unique flying experience, Like No Other Pilot...

Cheers,

Vincent

Looks good mate, I intend to try this out once I get home tonight Big Grin

- vtrelut - 25.06.2008

I forgot to mention that, with a modded game, you will have automatically some bonuses, provided your mods include the flyable Curtiss P-36A3 and Morane Saulnier MS-406 (with cockpits). These 2 are included in sound mod 0.93 or in the AAA Primary Mod Activator.

If you use no mods, the campaigns will work, but of course these 2 craft will not be available.

Cheers,

Vincent

Mate,

Great work- it's gorgeous. One thing I noticed is that the Libya campaign says you have to go ward of the RAF from the ships, and you get jumped by 109's and the enemy are German; 109's and Stukas.

- vtrelut - 25.06.2008

Hello Horton,

I suppose you play the Free French stuff with Hurricanes over Lybia? In that case, please adapt the briefings accordingly. With JSGME, disable the mod "-Battle of France & Vichy briefings in English". This mod is necessary when you play Battle of France and/or Vichy campaigns. But when you play on the allied side after the Battle of France, which is obviously the case, please disable it, so as to see the default briefings.

The interesting part IMHO of these campaigns is that depending on the career you choose, you switch sides and/or theaters of operations, and that is historical. When you finish the Lybia Free French part, you will go to Russia, so use again JSGME to enable the Normandie Niemen briefings, suitable to the Eastern front. In other words in this career, you use the Battle of France briefings, then the default ones, then the Normandie Niemen Eastern front ones...

Enjoy!

Vincent

Enhanced modded version is now available at M4T and CombatAce, featuring new Curtiss H-75 A2 and Morane 406.

Is there any other source where this could be downloaded?
I tried it 5 times now and it never downloads completly (like 83% after over one hour).
That's a little frustrating.

- vtrelut - 06.10.2008

Hello,

My campaigns are available at Mission4Today (including a special version in the specialised downloads category), and also at CombatAce forum. I did upload everything on both sites, so I suppose it should be fine. If you cannot find them, please let me know and I will post updated links for downloads (if necessary, but normally you should find them easily with Google or directly by navigating in these 2 sites).

They are also on my FileFront page and at CheckSix; if you want, I can PM you a link to the stuff I uploaded at FileFront. For CheckSix, I just uploaded links to Mission4Today there.

To be honest I can hardly find better places to upload than Mission4Today and CombatAce, and I don't know any other fan site to upload big IL2 campaigns' files. If you have another preference, please let me know, I can upload at the place which fits your location.

i tried about 8x to install this correct but it seems i can't get this campaign to work. i have no idea how to install the Dgen files. can anyone explain step by step how to this prperly please?

- vtrelut - 07.10.2008

Hello Rowddy,

I can help you, of course. All the installation instructions are in the first pages of the Read-Me file.

As far as DGen files are concerned, just take the DGen folder from the zip, and copy it into your game's main folder, overwriting the existing DGen folder. That is all. Same for DGen.exe. That way new files will be added inside the DGen folder, and you will have an updated DGen.exe.

If you have a specific question, let me know.

I downloaded your campaigns, and I have a question: If I do not have the Enjoyr-Skins installed, will there be planes that use default skins without any markigs, like in some of the Enjoyr-Patch-Campaigns? My problem is, that the skin packs are too big for me to download them all...or my internet is too slow...

- vtrelut - 07.10.2008

Hello ILV_Aquila_Noctis,

If you just download latest version of my campaigns, without EnjoyR skin patches, then campaigns will load but you will see some default skins without markings.

If you cannot download EnjoyR skin patches because of your connection or because they are so big, you may solve the problem by installing all the previous versions of my campaigns, still available at Mission4Today and at CombatAce. At Combat Ace the version 1 is split into smaller files so that people with connection problems can download in smaller increments.

In that case, please download and install version 1, 5, 6, 7b, 8 and 9 in that order, and finally the specialised one from M4T if you wish. Although this may be cumbersome, you will have smaller downloads and can play my campaigns with the appropriate skins, so I can recommend this option to you.

Version 1 is here:
http://mission4today.com/index.php?name ... ls&id=2898

Updates 5, 6, 7b and 8 are here:
http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&c=588

Version 9 is here:
http://mission4today.com/index.php?name ... ls&id=3424

Specialised one is here:
http://mission4today.com/index.php?name ... ails&id=18

Please install in that order and follow instructions carefully, and after that... enjoy your flights and the action!

Cheers,

Vince

- ILV_Aquila_Noctis - 08.10.2008

Thanks, mate, will take time to d/l them this week-end...atm, I'm flying BoF 1940, and I can't wait for the African Action...this one's the only campaign I know where you are actually flying for Vichy, though I had one flying against them...dunno which it was, though... :?

- vtrelut - 08.10.2008

Yes there are several static campaigns where you fly for the RAF or Royal Navy against Vichy forces (made by Billy Pryce and J.j. if my memory is correct).

My campaigns are the only ones where you can fly for Vichy France against the RAF, the Royal Navy and the US Navy... of course not all at the same time (it depends on which career and squadron you choose); anyway it was too much for the French, and later they became allies again.

- roger-wilco-66 - 10.10.2008

vtrelut,

thank you for your offer, but I was able to download it at last after a few more tries.

Great work!
