BULLET RICOCHET ON THE GROUND REQUEST .......... - Ahmsteen - 09.11.2008

Guys here is the best idea that it must be in mod world immediately...

İ saw at battle of britain WOV 2 ...İs this possible to make bullet ricochet on ground and rocks....

Thanks for help for now...

Also like that Idea

Its enough if it will be a grafic trick, the ricocheting bullets dont have to do damage

At least bombs already are made to ricochet.

They bounce both from water and ground when dropped low from level flight.

As a bomber pilot I have to estimate some advance when 'skip bombing' ships or 'slide bombing' tanks. Without advance, the bombs bounce or slide back of the target exploding harmlessly there. So this sim is made pretty detailed, up to bomb skips..!

May I call you Sir or God?

By the way, I think (and only think) that is possible ta do that, but I think too that there is more mods in progress that they are more interresting.

Why do you want ricochet?

Ricoched bullet (don't know if that word exist) means low velocity bullet, so it can only hit people and very very low armor. Don't you want too that we made flat tire for damaged truck and building windows broken?

The only thing that it could be usefull, it when guys like Eliott makes beautifull videos.

That is my opinion.

CONAN

bullets ricochet - db605-A/S - 09.11.2008

they already ricochet off of the !L2 armor plate, and yes it would add realism, watch actual gun camera footage of stationary ground targets.

- Paulo Hirth - 09.11.2008

I think a good idea, a new and nice detail to enchance the realism, some cockpits was blinded and this sometimes cause a ricochets.

- Ahmsteen - 12.11.2008

İf any of you watched a guncam you could also see the bullets ricochet on train or ground too...Many ricochets goes everywher when you fly low..Can you imagine a realism too...
İf you noticed that when someone attack at russsians il2 planes you can see some little ricochets due to its' strong armor...

The most riccohet effect occurs over ships and trains due to their metal body..And some reason to ricochet effect is attack angel towards the ground....

And here is a video that you can seeeee ricochets there..

You know that WWII gun and gatling gun are not the same thing?

Want a good gatling gun? Take off with a A-10 Thunderbolt Smile

- Saburo Sakai - 12.11.2008

i know that lol, but you said it meant low velocity, well just look at the ricochet from these Big Grin

but seriously, ricochet in this game would be nice Smile

- CONAN - 12.11.2008

I meant low velocity for WWII gun ricochet.

Yeah, sure would be nice, and as for when plane blows up front of you, you can be hit by them a little.

- Saburo Sakai - 12.11.2008

defiantly , having to dodge the odd engine case, or piece of wing structure from an exploding F4F would be excellent for the realism Big Grin

Yes, when bullets hit and ricochet, they are not even near same velocity as the moment they're fired - the same is true for the gatling (new gun or not)!
It's the amount of bullets fired and repeadetly hitting the target, that makes the difference between a gatling and another gun (so many hits make a hell of an impact).

Watch how slow the bullets travel, after having hit anything on the ground - so I'm with CONAN in this...

ok, so you understand..... a ricochet is the motion of an object or a projectile in rebounding or deflecting one or more times from the surface over which it is passing or against which it hits a glancing blow.

makes no difference if the object or projectile is of low or high velocity.

DK, if you had read the rest of the posts you would have seen that the vid was a giggle to what was said quoting ;_
