OK, say your diving on a target or your just coming in too fast. There is a way to fix this if you time it right... Start doing very wide barrel rolls to slow, the barrel roll causes you to in theory fly much further distance through the air, however if you start this too late you'll end up flying at about your enemy's speed right in front of his gun sight...

If your on somebody's 6 and he has chopped power and you have too but your just not decelerating fast enough, I find it highly effective to start a rolling scissor and drop flaps 1 notch to allow you to slip back into position...

NEVER STAY ON YOUR TARGETS 6 WHEN YOU HAVE SOMEONE ON YOUR 6 AS WELL!!!

If your hit while on someone else's 6, SCREW YOUR TARGET JUST GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE!!!

Fly an aircraft with a gyro sight when able, and if you don't know how to use a gyro sight here's how:
When in the cockpit press your bomb sight automation on key, then use your bomb sight side slip keys to select an aircraft with roughly the same wingspan as your target. Once your targets wings fit so that the tips are touching the little beads around the sight you just put the center bead on the target and let your amazingly accurate projectiles speak for themselves

If you are flying into an enemy over run area fly a P-47 if possible. The P-47 is very forgiving and if flown right will out turn out dive and out run every German plane. It is also highly durable. This plane may very well be the greatest combat aircraft ever built. It is a fact that the XP-47J was the very first aircraft to achieve a speed over 500kts in level flight.

MORE IS COMING SOON!

"you are nubbish."

An int'resting take on the words rubbish and noobish, pleasingly merged into a word that absolutely makes no sense whatso ever. I admire you.

Look, i can make up words and phrases that make no sense as well!! Observe:

"I'm full of maturiosity!" See? ^^

Look, i'm no great fan of the P-47, but that doesn't make me a nub, does it? I personally like flying spitfires and hurricanes

- RAF_Brut - 23.11.2008

If you fly like you talk, Then god help you.

- P/O W. 'Moggy' Cattermole - 23.11.2008

Guessing you mean me? Haha, nope! I just have a happy personality, i'm a happy person. Got my university offers, so i'll go to uni, get a history degree, then head into Her Majesty's Armed Forces and become a British Army officer and join the Army Air Corps or the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment. So yeah, i feel fairly happy that my lifes heading in some sort of direction, rather than coasting aimlessly, or standing still. I'm an amiable person, with an odd personality, but then, life would be boring if everyone were the same. And hell, i try to be a decent person, so who cares?

But, this is miiiiiiles off topic, so bringing it back onto the firmer ground of the P47, i'm sure its a nice aircraft, but i just dislike the look of the thing; i prefer the Spitfire.

Guys as much as i like the P-47 i do not see how this topic is suited to this section. Perhaps if it is the misleading title or the mix of content, a poll? kind of makes it off topic from this section.

I leave it up to you to decide on keeping the poll and renaming the title of the thread to something on the lines of P-47 tactics. Other wise this thread belongs in spray and pray. It is an excellent aircraft and dogfighter.

- BigSilverHotdog - 23.11.2008

What if it's both?

Its a very challenging plane to fly and a very underestimated plane in WWII, it was realy a workhorse.

Thanks that you give us a look in your tricks......I need them ( Iam not a very good pilot).
But your name "109dude", is this not an another trick of you.....your name tells me you love BF109, while we are flying the P47, you are on our six in a BF109
