I'm all for it! But the S.E.5 a light bomber?
- Phas3e - 11.01.2009
Keen I think a WWI sim on the IL2 engine would be perfect.
would have to see a Albatros DIII or Va though
- Rackhir - 11.01.2009
I would love to be in. I know how to model in Max, but I'm quite busy with work right now, but i can do some work on Pfalz D.III or D.IIIa, just give me a couple of months to finish it.
Good flights!

The more planes the better!!
- Rackhir - 12.01.2009
By the way, anyone knows about a tutorial on how to transform the max meshes into a fully funtional mod?
- Guest - 12.01.2009
I'm behind this project 100%!!!
Hope it takes off - we're sorely lacking a decent WW1 sim, and what better engine than IL2?
A WW1 'total conversion' mod for IL2 would be nothing short of AWESOME!!!!
- RAF_Magpie - 12.01.2009
I put my hand up to help with the project, where I can, with what I can.
Should be quite fun.

Perhaps some Russian aircraft wouldnt go astray either. The Ilya Mourimets is one nice aircraft.

Exactly. Not really worth bothering starting another WW1 project when this is coming - and there's still so much more WW2 stuff to do with IL-2.

"Game represents 2 parts of the conflict, namely Germany and the USA."
Why only Germany and USA? Why not France, Britain or Russia?

Sounds fantastic, and i wish you the best of luck, although i have some points to make:
The SE5 was one of the most successful British Fighters, it was definitely NOT a light bomber!
The Bristol F2b Fighter, that was a successful fighter.
The Vickers Vimy missed the war, it was too late. Try the Handley Page 0/400 bomber instead.
For a good British medium bombing aircraft consider the De Havililand DH4 or DH9.
It seems to me that you're mixing periods. the Vimy is a post war aircraft yet the Pup was a little fighter having its heyday mid 1916.
The Pfalz Dr.1 to the best of my knowledge never existed, however, the D.III and D.XII did. And the D.F.W. C.V was a reconaissance aircraft, not a bomber. I'm also surprised that you have not chosen to include the Fokker DVII, probably the best german fighter of the war..
Well, anyway, sorry to pick holes, but i find WW1 aircraft fascinating. Good luck!

I posted a thread similar to this about the cold war, but it got deleted and I'm a bit hesitant to try again...
But anyhow, sounds good to me, I support going to new horizons. Got any thoughts on WWI Carriers and carrier based planes?
Take off of a carrier in a U-2VS and you'll see why I say this
