[MOD] Markings for new countries - sanka - 10.03.2009

Hello everyone,

I present you my mod which adds aircraft markings (roundels and numbering) for the nations added in the mod "Nations and new squadrons V6" by Gaston available here. You need to install Gaston's mod first for my mod to work.

Included are custom roundels for 39 new countries. This mod is still WIP so comments and suggestions are welcome. Be sure to read the readme.txt for installation instructions.

PS: I recommend the spanish voice pack available here. Install the speech files in Samples\Speech\ES

A question: Is there a way to get the country names in the list to display in English?
I think there was a way to do so, but can't remember now? :?:

If memory serves, there is regInfo.properties, regInfo_ru.properties and a regInfo_fr.properties - rename the _ru file to whatever you want and rename regInfo.properties to regInfo_ru.properties - the same for the regShort files. I think that's what I did, been a while. :wink:

Hi bigbossmalone, glad you like it

To display the country names in English, go to MODS/Escadres_et_pays_V6/ and delete all files ending with "_ru.properties" in both folders "i18n" and "Files/i18n" :wink:

I have another question, sanka - is it possible/how much work would it be to have the South African planes display the single unit letter, eg: A,B,C,etc..? As opposed to the 2 digit numeric code?
This would be historically correct, if not for the bombers, definitely for the fighters, such as Hurricane, Spits, and so on?
And I'm also wondering about the possibility of using MAT Manager markings with these, which would also solve my first question, possibly??

Yes it's possible, I'll include it on my todo list for the 2nd release. Numberings for all new nations are generic for the moment, so any info on historical markings is alway welcome

You can use MAT Manager roundels, provided you rename them with XXRoundel.tga and place them in the right folder, but it won't solve the numbering issue, which is a matter of class files.

Very great mod!!!I have some sugestions for v.2 .For Bulgarian Allied roundels : there aren"t roundels over the wings and these on the bottom of the wings must be turned on 90 degrees.Thanks a lot mate.And i have one question is it possible to be added default skins for the new countries?I have tryed but without success.

Great to see some progress on additional markings! Just one point though... Is the roundel for Norway correct? I thought during ww2 Norway used a red square with vertical white/blue/white bars?
