UI 1.3 ? - Saburo Sakai - 16.10.2009

just a small question lads, will the 1.3 be out anytime before xmass ?
i would like to know this because i want to put all my mods back on which takes some effort, but if 1.3 is out soon, i will wait rather than put the mods and edit ini's etc.
not looking for a release date or anything just a before or after will do
thanks.

Lol are you serious? UI1.2 has just come out and you are asking for 1.3?

From what I heard, 1.3 will be out a lot faster than 1.2 (mainly due to the fact a lot changed in 1.2 and there is a lot more new features) but who knows if it will be out before xmas. As always, patience is a virtue and good things come to those who wait Smile

I was not wanting lol, 1.3 will probably need a clean install so i was just asking so i know what to do with the rest of my mods i want to use  Smile

Don't.

actually i would also like to know the answer to the question, will 1.3 require a clean install
or will one be able to install it over a 1.2 install with extra mods/maps.

Last I heard (a couple of weeks ago), 1.3 was anticipated about 30 days after 1.2. It may have changed since I read that estimate, however.

I think that may have been a ruse...

Well 1.2 is not based on the official patch so its legit for only a segment of the community. I'm waiting for 1.3 as well.

I prefer self sellection by hand, but these installers is a big help for a lot of people... my game folder is a mix SAS+AAA+4.09m working perfect, with more than 15GB (with skins and missions) , was a hard way, mod by mod, only the best of best improved, test after each mod and a rar backup after all upgrades OK, today my
IL-2 is really fantastic!

If you have the HD space, why not make an extra install? Just do a clean install, patch to 4.08 & 1.2, make a copy of it in a different folder, then do whatever you want to the copy..

Are the current mods for individual aircraft, maps and effects compatible with the 4.09m patch?

At the moment I have a main install of 1946 with the 4.09b1m patch from this site, along with many mods from both this site and SAS, but I'm reluctant to tamper with this by trying to install the 4.09m patch over the top, because I think it will conflict with some of the mods such as QMB+ and Cert's AI mod 3.0. I really don't want to have to go through the fuss of reinstalling all the various mods I have collected onto a fresh install patched to 4.09m, so is there any way to combine the modded install I have with 4.09m patch?

Also, is the UI 1.3 going to be based on the 4.09m patch? If it is the case then this would greatly simplify what I am trying to achieve.

Well, since UI 1.2 is not compatible with the latest official patch but instead is created for an obsolete version, it's a valid question.

(Yes, 4.08 and the beta 4.09 are now obsolete, just like 4.07 and any other version that preceded them!)

I was eagerly waiting for the UI 1.2 but finally decided against installing it and will wait for the version which is compatible with the current version of the game. Until it comes out, i'll stick with my franken-4.09-UI 1.11-SAS version!

unfortunately i don't have the space.

look, i aint asking for a date, just a before or after xmass, keepin it broad instead of direct lol

You can get UI working with 4.09m, just won't be compatible online.

I'm not 100% sure what the team has planned, but they were working on 4.09m compatibility last time I talked to Monguse. I'd imagine there might be a 1.21 patch to fix it. But as for UI1.3, it will arrive much sooner than 1.2 did after 1.1, just no idea on the date.

*EDIT* This switcher seems to have fixed the compatiblity problem, give it a shot:
