Game resolution? - ALOTEF - 20.12.2009
Hey guys.
I'm pretty sick of my IL2 being stuck on the 1024x768 resolution...It looks like rubbish.
How can I change this resolution?
- Dustydog - 20.12.2009
Edit your conf.ini file like this:
[window]
width=1680
height=1050
ColourBits=32
DepthBits=24
StencilBits=8
ChangeScreenRes=1
FullScreen=1
DrawIfNotFocused=0
EnableResize=0
EnableClose=0
SaveAspect=0
Use3Renders=0
Just put your own res in....Then do a search for the widescreen mod V2, it's on here somewhere

Look at this!
width=1920 height=1080
I'm running the game on these settings and let me tell you it's jaw dropping awesome granted the load screens don't fill the whole monitor there is about a inch and a half on both sides that is black while the game is loading but the game itself fills the whole screen and looks freaking fantastic.

Get that widescreen mod thing ...You will lose the black bars and it will be even better!
Merry Christmas...!

Thanks guys.
I'll try this all out now, and report back how I went.

WORKS PERFECTLY! THANKYOU GUYS!
I also need to know, how exacltly do I get 'perfect' landscape setting? I know to run with OpenGL and enable buffer, but what do I have to do to the config file?
- Dustydog - 20.12.2009
Errm go back in the conf.ini edit the line in open GL "hardware shaders=0" change that to 1.
Then load the game, and you should be able to set "perfect" in video options..(in the hardware settings)

After doing this, the option still remains shaded out.

Hmmm, I'm pretty sure that's what I did. Maybe I'm missing something....Anyone?
You did set the hardware shader in open GL and not direct x?
- santobr - 20.12.2009
The easyest way is to begin some mission and, when you are in flight, press "ESC" and choose video options.
You can see the changes in real time. 8)
Make sure of this in config.ini:
[Render_OpenGL]
VideoSetupId=17

Ok, so i have done '1' for both hardwareshaders in the OpenGL and DirectX sections, yet when I open the game, I get the 'perfect' option is blanked out still.
Do I have to install something for OpenGL or an update or something?
- GeneralPsycho - 20.12.2009
Make sure that you are playing the game in OpenGL.
To do that, go into Hardware setup ingame, video modes, then change the Directx to Opengl, do not touch the resolution!!!

The only other thing I can think of is: Colorbits=32 and stencilbits=8
You may have to run set up .exe again, bear in mind if you do you will have to re-enter the settings again in your conf as they will be overwritten, but worth a try mate..... I guess.

What does the videosetupID=17 do?
- Dustydog - 20.12.2009
Well mine is set on 3, I believe it depends on what type of monitor you have mine is 16x10. I think that may be set for you....
