what must I do for having a beautiful detailed water? my pc have nvidia ge force 9600 1gbyte & intel 4 core 2.33Ghz

Hi! In config.ini set 3 or 4 the water value under OpenGL section (water=X). Of course run IL2 in OpenGL and not DirectX.

I have put 4 on water=x under openGL but it returne 1 when the game start! :???:

after you've applied your changes in config don't run again il2.setup and set config.ini as read only

In your confi ini make sure Hardwareshaders = 1 under open gl section

First make sure your card is a ATI or nVidia.
You will need these settings:
HardwareShaders=1
VideoSetupId=17

And then this:
Water=4

Have finally found the solution!
I had to put the option only reading to the file conf.ini!!
