How to jnstall aircraft? - CPS.fraggmann - 20.01.2010

Good day all..
Im using HSFX/UP2.0..What is the procedure for new aircraft installation...thnx

- VonBarb. - 20.01.2010

What particular aircraft mod are you trying to install ? I was under the impression HSFX and UP came with all previously released aircraft ?

Cheers

Nico

Activate the MODS folder by renaming it without the minus sign. Inside the MODS folder, you will find all the necessary .ini files.

Install the new aircraft folder into the MODS folder, and follow all the instructions that came with your download, or the forum topic for your download.

Not all aircraft..the Cougar is missing...we are just getting the Thunder Streak back...one or two others..can't remember right now..I think we could use some more 109s though LOL .

Thanks Bulau..you come through for me again... you are the Bomb!!

What about the Buttons file??
What about A/C installer?? I ran U.I.1.2 before and I am familiar with how it was done there.

I installed the New F-84 as you instructed and I crashed at 60% ?

- Panama Red - 20.01.2010

SAS now has separate Online and Offline buttons so you can add all the new planes and still be compatable with the Online flying.

- 8FS_Bulau - 20.01.2010

Yeah...what Red said...SAS has the most up-to-date buttons.

- CPS.fraggmann - 20.01.2010

OK..It's still crashing at 60%.. I renamed the "-MODS" folder to "MODS" put the aircraft folder into it. Next to "STD" folder.
Put the "buttons" file in the "GUI"/"Game" folder ..Added all the "ru" and "ini" lines into the correct places (3).

Am I missing something??.....A/C installer??

- 8FS_Bulau - 20.01.2010

Forget about A/C installers...all they ever did was install a buttons file, and there is no longer an up-to-date A/C installer.

Either, there is a mistake in the line you entered in the air.ini, or the buttons you have does not contain the FM of the new plane you added...or something else...

What plane did you add, and what buttons did you use?
When you added the plane folder to MODS folder, how did you do it? Check that the path to the new folder is not too deep, i.e. \MODS\MODS\PlaneFolder, for example.
What line did you add to air.ini, and where was (path) the air.ini you edited? (air.ini is only one relevant to 60% CTD)

- CPS.fraggmann - 20.01.2010

The plane is the F-84F Thunder Streak the new one here at AAA.
I copied and pasted the Plane file into the MODS folder..eg: MODS/F84F Thunderstreak/
The air ini I used is in the STD folder MODS/STD/COM/...etc to/ air ini
The buttons file is from SAS,I got it today Version 4.2
I put the buttons file into MODS/STD/GUI/GAME

Thanks for your help

If it is the one posted by PabloSniper:
viewtopic.php?t=24113
...there is an "extra" outer folder in his download. I'm just installing it now, and he has a folder:

F84F Thunderstreak

and inside it are TWO more folders:

F84F Thunderstreak (which is the one that goes in MODS folder, and
F84F1_Thunderstreak (which goes in the \PaintSchemes\Skins folder)

If you put the first folder (the outer one with the two subfolders) into your MODS folder, so that you ended up with:

\MODS\F84F Thunderstreak\F84F Thunderstreak\

then that would cause the problem.

You'll have to dig down one more folder and separate out the correct ones inside.
I think that could have been made a little clearer.

- CPS.fraggmann - 20.01.2010

Hey Bluau Yup I understood . I put the folder that has the 3DO files. This folder I put into the MODS folder next to the STD folder. In U.I.1.2 I knew how to install aircraft and maps . This is the same but file locations are different..still crashes at 60%

- Panama Red - 21.01.2010

Long article on 60% crashes and how to fix them: http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=22.0

- 8FS_Bulau - 21.01.2010

Hmmm...It's working fine for me, no 60% CTD.
SAS online buttons 4.1, that same F84F posted by Pablo...

Did you put new buttons in \Files\gui\game or in \MODS\STD\gui\game?
I'm using the latter.
[Edit] It has to be the latter, because there is already a buttons there, so when you activate the MODS folder, the game will use that buttons. If you put the SAS buttons in \Files\gui\game\ the SAS buttons will not be used.

- CPS.fraggmann - 21.01.2010

I don't get it ..it still crashes at 60%..
This how I did this:
Took the "-" off the mods folder to enable.
put the F-84 folder into the enabled Mods folder
put the air ini line into the MODS /STD/COM/maddox/il-2/objects/air ini
put the plane ru line into MODS/STD/i18/plane ru
put the weapons ru into MODS/STD/i18/weapons ru
put the buttons file v 4.2 into MODS/STD/GUI/game/
Im pretty sure I did this correctly if not please advise.
