Love this plane. DL it last night and played with it just a bit before bed time. For some reason mine is dark blue. It is not two tone like all the screenies I see. Is it because I did not create a separate skins folder? Does anyone know where to get skins for the new bird?

Really like the loadout on this one. Cant wait to be over Korean war skies tonight!!!!!!!

THANKS FOR THE NEW BIRD!!!!

Sorry to come back to the charge, but nobody can give me (and the other having the bug with the inverted spinners) a clue how to fix it ?

Thanks in advance

Change your country setting... I think the 2-tone is only for the US forces.

Great plane - Sounds great and weapons are all working - But I too have the inverted prop problem. Has anyone found a fix?

a new prop would be nice Big Grin Big Grin

Cannot download! Any problems with the hosting of the file as apparently it "doesn't exist".

oldschoolie Wrote:I have the same problem with the props...the nose of the spinner against the engine and the base leading...looks very odd and spoils what is otherwise a wonderful effort. Assume there must be an easy fix to a file or files within "Plane". Does anyone know how to do it, please?

Still no reply to this query...which is replicated by other people. Is there anyone out there with an answer?

Reversed Spinner - Guest - 02.10.2009

Sorry that no-one has responded. I have not had that problem - but from playing with this mesh it looks as if the Hier file has a wrong/corrupted entry on the one line that determines the relative position and "distortion" of the spinners ( I have found this out by playing with the meshes to produce the F84F from Flaks great F84G model).

I would be happy to send you my copy (which is fine on my machine) if you wish.

pm me.

I think I have found the root cause of the problem. It was in the "mesh hierachy" or Hier file. The stationary and rotational files on my installation are fine, the damage model is reversed. It is not difficult to fix. As you can see in the picture below, I have fixed the port prop and left the starbord as original. I also moved the props forward slightly so that they clear the engine cowl. when running normally.

As most people are nervous of messing about in the Mod files, would it be better if I prepared a new "Neptune" MOD file for a complete swap out (no need to change any other settings) or would you like the modified Hier file to insert yourselves ? Let me know and I will post it for download.

I vote for a complete swap if it's ok with the original creator.

- Stavinsky - 03.10.2009

Nice job, i hope you could give the 2 options,

so people who are curious like me can have a look in what you changed (and what was corrupted),
and the people who are not at ease with change in the files could use the "ready to use" solution.

Thanks to you mate

Hi guys!

Could anyone help me, where should I find air.ini file, because I didn't find in the root anywhere?
Thank you in advance!

- 7thMarine - 23.10.2009

On my pc, this the folder in which the air.ini is located.

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 mod\MODS\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects
