Happy 40th Birthday
bigbossmalone. Sorry we didn't make it for your birthday, but you definitely don't have much longer to wait. We found just a few problems with AI running into mountains, which we have to fix. It won't take long, so stay tuned buddy 8)

we are tying to get a release canidate up for everyone. we're just doing some last idiot checks to see if we left stuff out or forgot to fix something that we noted. we are very very close. thank you all for your patients.
a note will be put into the readme about this, but if have a bunch of large american bombers landing at a fighter field (not meant for bombers), you may get the AI bumping thier wings into things during taxiing/parking. it's what i have been testing for the last hour and will be continuing to test for the next few hours.

I can tell you that at least one USMC F4F mission is scheduled to be released with the maps.
Hello Chuck!
Haven't got this map yet, but it's in my thoughts. One of the side-projects I'm working on now is a VB-5/VS-5 SBD campaign. Here's some pics from the Oct 1943 Wake Island raids:
I can use the slot map for the 1942 Tulagi raids. I can't remember if there was going to be a New Britain/Rabaul map as well, but if there is I can also use that.
My thinking behind this campaign is that I can add to the campaign if/when Team Pacific or other AAA members create the appropriate maps. I don't want to influence you guys or anything, but Marcus Island, Kwajalein, and the Marshalls would be nice
I can also do a standard "vanilla" version for those on the "light" side. Also, I might be getting old/lazy, but I like flying in the back seat these days. The flak looks so much prettier from back there....

The AI do stupid things like insisting upon going around a set route for whilst waiting to land.....even if there is a mountain in the way....and mission builders must use the planes suitable for an airstrip....so don't go compromising the accuracy of the map to allow for mis-use.
I lowered a mountain on my version of the Pacific Islands map....to stop the AI crashing into it on 'going around again'....but that is only a play map anyway

I wanted also make my new Northern Norway map with real hights, but could not because of the Stupid AI, so no more mountains higher than 1500 m for me
