OK NOW IT'S TIME FOR SETTING SOME RULES IN PUBLISHING MOD MAPS!!!!!!

TO AVOID OVERLAPPING OF MODS:

EVERYONE PLEASE PLACE YOUR UNIQUE PREFIX TO THE LOAD.INI FILES AND FOR MAP NAMES!!!!!


MINE IS: fly_Z

for example: ron_wload.ini.... flyZ_wload.ini.... Bee_wload.ini....

we need sticky for lists of prefix so new modders can avoid duplication.

For now please PM me and report your prefix so i can make list of it in separate thread

i have been away for a few days, and i can see i have missed quite a bit. Reading through the maps list it is clear people are making great gains in improving the maps and/or adding new ones.

I must admit though i have become a bit confused as to what is available and how to implement it, is it possible to have an up to date list of all maps and instructions on how to install them please?

I too have come a bit confused as to what is in the works an what has been released.

Is there a how-to around on hwo to edit & make new maps at all? I would really like to do an edit of my own.

Dear map moders, can some of us please make them in one zip or something like that and make it downloadable with instructions how to install it, for us stupider ones :|


And one question more, why I can open some tgas with photoshop and some not, I have tried also some plug ins for tgas but nothing, whats the catch? My idea is maybe to try to make some new land textures, but I must see how do they look first.

To all concerned :

When any of maps or pack of maps become MOD it will be posted to Mr.Jolly and after his approval posted in MOD DOWNLOAD section. With all instruction for installation. That is the forum rule so for safe install wait for "official" mod if you are uncertain regarding procedure.

I will create a .rar maps pack to substitute the oldes map of IL2. (CRIMEA, CRIMEA Winter, SMOLENSK, KURSK, PROKOVKA, MOSCOW summer, KUBAN, STALINGRAD summer).

When this pack will be finished, the map's names will begin by LAL_xxx.
You will be able to download it here !

i remember when there was dicussion on radar et al at nUBIe some time ago

ppl were talkign about P 61s n stuff for upcomning patches (so much for that :roll: )

funny thing to me was, msot ppl asked "what about radar? will have to write new stuff, its too much, etc etc......HELLO! minimap with icons! pre-fab, ready made radar! lol

but this this fantasic!
