Well its not my map so I have no idea.It seems to be working for others so maybe its something to do with your install.The only time I have seen a map loading error for terrain is when I tried to load a map meant for 4091b using 408. :?

Yeah I hear yeah I have it patched 4.09 and I can do FMB no problems in fact I'm making a campaign right now and test flew my 1st mission on it with no problems. I have over 30 maps installed in QMB and fly them all. I guess I can live without this one in QMB...oh well.

4./JG53_Badger, this is a shot in the dark but what number is the map in your conf ini Custom map list?

I had an issue whereas that map and the vol_Sardegna maps would not show up in the QMB if they were higher than number 10 so I switched them with lower numbered maps I do not use.

Here is the first part of my list and both maps show in the QMB:

[quick]
Custom0=vol_Sardegna
Custom1=MTO
Custom2=Bessarabia
Custom3=Malta
Custom4=Channel
Custom5=Slot
Custom6=vol_ItalyAfricaGreece
Custom7=The_Slot_10-42
Custom8=The_Slot_10-43
Custom9=The_Slot_01-44

I have 40 maps in the list and am still having issues with some maps showing up but I did manage to get these two working, maybe it is worth a try for you.

I don't know what I am doing wrong. Or maybe this download needs a readme? That would be nice either way..

But I installed the mod and I cannot find it in the FMB. I also installed the English Channel mod and have the same problem. These are the only two maps that I have downloaded. Here are the last few lines of my all.ini file:

Quote:Smolensk Smolensk/load.ini
Stgrad Stgrad/load.ini
SummerMoscow Moscow/sload.ini
SummerStgrad Stgrad/sload.ini
Tarawa Tarawa/load.ini
vol_ItalyAfricaGreece vol_ItalyAfricaGreece/vol_ita_load.ini
Wake Wake/load.ini
WinterFinsGulf FinsGulf/load_w.ini
Kt_channel Kt_channel/load.ini
I have the 4.09b, Switcher and several mods already working.

Am I supposed to be able to see these maps by these names in the FMB? How do I use them. Sorry if I am just stupid....

Snacko :?

well, map is listed ok .... make sure this is the only all.ini file present in any sub-folder in "MODS"

this must be the only one present:
gameroot\MODS\MAPMODS\maps\all.ini

Thanks for he quick reply!

Yes, it is the only one listed. I only have the all.ini file and the two folders for the Channel map and the Greece, Italy, Africa map.

But what should I expect to see? There is no readme, so I am just guessing. But I suppose I should see 2 'new' maps available in the Load menu in the FMB? Also, is the FMB Load menu in the same order as this list? If so, these maps should be near the bottom. But all I have is Malta; Malta_Medium; Malta_High; and one more that I can't remember at the moment....

you should get all maps listed in all.ini and by same order when "load map" in FMB

map that you're looking for is : vol_ItalyAfricaGreece .... that is how it should be listed

if you don't have it ... then your game loads some other all.ini

BTW, do you have installed wrapper ?

as for readme goes there must be "Istruzioni-Instructions map vol_ItalyAfricaGrecee.txt" present in your : gameroot\MODS\MAPMODS\maps\

anyway here are general instructions :

(The link is inoperative)

I do have the wrapper installed.

I have a mods package that has a folder called 'basic 1'. There is a maps folder in that folder that does have a all.ini file in it. And that all.ini file 'does' have the maps listed in the the same order as I see them in the FMB File/Load Map menu. So the game must be using that all.ini file.

Should I move those map files to this new MODS/MAPMODS/maps folder? I have not read your link yet, but will after this post.

Thanks again..

I put a dash in front of the other all.ini file (-all.ini) so the game would not recognize it. That work.

Now I can see the new maps in the FMB. Of course all the other maps are not seen, but at least now I kind of understand that I need to merge these two folders. Add these new maps to my 'basic 1/maps' folder or probably vice versa and move them all to the 'MODMAPS/maps' folder and all.ini file list etc....

Thanks again!

put all files/folders related to maps to mods\mapmods\maps\ .... all map mods are using that structure and so will all future map mods

Finally got around to downloading this map and all I can say is it's gorgeous! Thanks for all the hard work you've put into it. Even got it running in the QMB! Can't wait to get some missions in on it. Thanks again and S! to all of you!

Now if I could only get the Malta map to work in QMB...

- lowfighter - 22.06.2008

Redfox, I was looking at your load.ini and noticed all the texture regions are assigned (lowland0=assigned midland3=assigned etc). Did you use all of the regions on your map_T? I'm asking because it would have been nice to have at least one region assigned to some crop field texture (for example land/summer/rom_fields_LowLand2.tga ). So that one can have those fields close to towns.

Just wanted to give some feedback on this map. It works very well for online co-op mission building. Excellent work, much appreciated!
