Sorry have been on holiday and was sick afterwards. Just wanted say this on all the mails i just been reading:

I just don't see the need to register for every dowload despite the fact that it looks awsome i will never register for a seperate dowload. You can call whatever you want but it's my principle and i stick to it. I have absolutely no idea why people want that anyway other then count how many people will download it. I get enough enough spam and other unwanted stuff on my PC so i drew a line somewhere and i stick to it. Registering for AAA and with Missionttoday is enough for me. The day this airplane will have a download link on the AAA site i'll be the first one to download it. So to all you other guys you can call me whatever you like and write till your fingers hurt or be just as sarcastic as you can be. It won't change my mind about this. Call it a principle but i rather take a stand about someyhing then do something i actualy don't want to do. I congratulate the makers of this plane nevertheless with this outstanding job, realy it looks stunning

just wanted to say this before i rest this Topic.

p.s. sorry for the typing errors if there any.

Rowddy Wrote:or did we abondon this rule?? i hope not.

Why should we bother busting our backs, with the stress of policing every post to make sure there aren't links to other sites, that openly thwart our rules & views, that are there to keep the community safe? Why should we try and keep certain aspects secret, and safe? Why should we continuously get treated like the bad guys? Why should we watch as you people take our good names, go behind our backs, and make snarky, hateful, little comments? Well, to be quite frank - we shouldn't. Why should we try to help the community, when the community does its best to thwart what we try to do.

Why not open the door for the community so they can get this great aircraft, which is much needed? Perhaps establishing the fact that if this works, and nothing goes to crap, we can let our guard down and establish "free trade", so to speak, with the rest of the community? We trust these guys, so we let this happen, while we continue to do what we must to try and keep it safe. Do you honestly think we didn't vet this decision through and through? The rule is still there, this is one of the rare exceptions to it - due to the partnership we have entered with the Red Devils.

Its not going to kill you to sign up there, and help them with the beta is it? Why go out on the limb and sign up? It would take the time it took you to write even one of those posts, I mean, that is after all the only thing the authors are really asking of us...

[/rant]

Profound statement Mags.. I for one totally agree! After all's said and done.. we ALL benefit from the partnership surely. It took me a couple of minutes to sign up and D/L the 'Stringbag' So, what's difficult about that?

Hi mates!

I'm a little tyred reading so steril discussion about this beautiful plane and the needs of register at that site!

I hate disussion in any form they are but.....

I think that if in this site we have rules there is a gerarchy even...so if the bosses have take a decision we have a freedom of choice to register or not have the plane....don't forget that in the web we can find a lot of new ac that aren't linked here or that haven't their FM in our UI buttons file so we can't use them!

The site in which you must to register for got the Sword have made the work and I'm sure that they have the knowledge for make an own buttons file so they are free to take their work keep for them but since they had other AAA mods why don't share the work between the two site? (Remember that you can use GOOGLE TRANSLATE or write in english there)

If they don't agree to link the download here is for keep their copyright (not a real one but a brain one) and have some more guys on their count!

I can assure that from the time I'm registered ther I haven't any spam or noising mail!!!

cheers

walter

I haven't received any spam either. This plane, even in it's Beta form, is too good to pass up especially over such a small thing as registering at another flight sim website.
Besides, I'm beginning to make some new acquaintances and that's never bad in my IL-2 experience.
The gentlemen over at Diavoli Rossi seem to be very earnest folks trying to give us something most of us have been craving for a while now.
Personally I'm glad I registered.

My 2 kopecks worth.

Each to his own on site regstitration I dont even think it's that unusual, you need to register at Sim outhouse and Combat ace before you can download their stuff and doubtless numerous other sim sites, oh, trainsim is another (no laughing please Smile ) Swordfish is well worth the admission.

Smile Hi guys, need a little help - where can I put custom skins of swordfish to show up in game?
After installation of U.I. installer everything is working, but I would like to use different skins not just default.

Regards to all and thanks in advance !

As I understand from the folks at Diavoli Rossi they will be releasing a template with the finished version.

Just reading through this thread and thought I'd just put my views across as regards Rowddy's posts..
At the end of the day it's his decision wether he decides to use this mod or not. At the moment it requires a registration process at the other site, and he out of principle won't download it because for him its an issue.
But thats fine, we are all grown ups here, (mostly) lol!

Two observations..
1. Not an issue is it, if he doesn't want to D/L it out of principle thats up to him.. we aren't robots that all have to follow suit if we don't want to.

2. On the other hand, if he wants to put his thoughts down on the issue, thats not a problem either, we need to have discussion don't we, but as long as he doesn't try to make us see it has to be his way there's no drama..

Me?.. I'm not going to use it until it has a pukka cockpit inserted.. I can wait. Have to say it looks great though, some good looking pics of the old girl are knocking around..

Have been really enjoying the Swordfish 8)

I took my try and got shredded at Taranto  Looks to be great for sub patrolling with the flares and bombs. The thing that'd complete THAT experience if someone made the hit box for submerged subs bigger -- but that's for another thread.

Been loving the slooow landing speeds and its handling.

The pit is a bit distracting though. It's been my excuse for flying with the Wonder Womangs view lately.

BTW cool animations on the sprites for this plane Big Grin I's luvs the way those little dudes just spend the entire flight looking around diligently Tongue

Thanks

Triad

- axal - 11.07.2009

Hey, I've seen that beta2 version is now available, it adds 1x500lb+8flares to weapons

- Triad773 - 11.07.2009

Thanks Axal!

Got it.

Grazie molto! Ci

- Ill Eagle - 12.07.2009

Very nice model.

One bug;

Getting odd behaviour from AI Swordfish in COOP.

They 'porpoise' and abandon flight path and plan.

Single player missions exhibit same problem on second flight.

- Bee - 12.07.2009

The update is very welcome, although Ranwers cockpit seems seems odd. The top wing centre section sits lower than the mainplanes and there is a big chunk of stuff forward of the seatback. Perhaps it's an issue with using 6DoF. :???:

- Triad773 - 12.07.2009

Hi Maraz- thanks for this great plane!

I did notice one thing with the new version (2): the new weapons loadout with 8 flares and 1 500 lb bomb: I hit joybutton 4 and BOTH flares and bomb drops :???: and nothing happens when I hit joybutton 3 :?

All else is great- the pit is nice and functional. The modelling of the top braces where the top wing is fastened to the body with pylons looks like a difficult thing to create- it is not perfect but serviceable. Not a deal breaker at all if you ask me- a nice airplane, and as I've discovered great for touring Crete 8)

- Bee - 12.07.2009

Triad, I think the new loadout is only meant for AI planes to use if you want to set them up as pathfinders.
