I 'm thoroughly enjoying this beauty. When it's finished it will be superb.

I'm confident that all the problems will be overcome and when it gets its own FM (the P-80 is somewhat lacking, I think the He162C FM has more to give, but then I know nothing of the intricacies of modding :?)

In the meantime I have been experimenting with a metal finish and have 90% finished my first skin:

"The Huff" flown by 2Lt James Thompson of the 51st Fighter Wing.

I'll see about loading my skins after I've done a few more.

Great job, guys!

I just couldn't help myself. I did a boatload of panels. Just couldn't let Pete's plane fly "naked".
I know the taxi and landing lights don't work (yet), but I barrowed a pair from the P-38.

Bo,
Your HUFF came out a lot better than mine. Don't suppose there's a chance of sharing that dragon?

Couple of questions/comments:

1: I agree that the damage model is outstanding. I

To BadGrant: When I've finished "Huff" and it's available for download I'll be happy to send it to you. Are you aware that it has more noseart on the opposite side?

Not trying to hijack this thread but I hope this shows just how popular this F-86 is.

My paint shop has a veritable queue of Sabres waiting

Bo Nidle,

No you got me. I had no idea it had all that on the other side.

This is a web page of Commercial Decals for F-86 Kits.. its a great way to see some of the more colorful paint schemes by various countries and are usually very well researched.

With regards to the nose gear rotating, I though it did that with the F4U Corsair as its wheels also rotate 90 degrees.

- JG14_Jagr - 04.04.2009

Her's another page of reference profiles for you artistically inclined..

Literally hundreds of Sabre Profiels there.....

Here is a sweet little Mass Air Guard Sabre (H model but hey..whatever) showing Bostons Irish side..

http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww3/f/97/3/12/126 Anyone care to make this beauty up?

- Guest - 04.04.2009

Quote:I know about the front gear rotating 90 degrees, however the game engine is quite limited in that regard. It's not impossible to do it, but it needs some extra coding that I can't do I'm afraid.

PeterD, thanks for a really great addition to the game. If it is of any help, the landing gear on the ME 410 rotatates as it retracts, I don't know if you can use or access the code from that.

regards

This specifically is an XP-86. Note the wingtips.
