actually i haven't yet checked all textures so there is plenty of room for improvements. I have some other projects in mind so stay tuned.

by the way, i use Git_xxxx.ini as prefix for selfmade maps... :wink:

Could you please organise your finished maps in self installing mods, if possible and post them along with sample photos to the Mods Download section because it's a kind of chaos right now for the less experienced. :?

Is moving (copy and paste?) single pixels the only way, or can you paint it on?

I tried and it's not working. :/

With gimp painting is also not working for one single reason: when painting the program smoothens the edges of the paint, that is place colours which are not understand by the gameengine.
Copy-paste, not necesarilly with single pixels, if you want to place a large forest, copy large blocks of forest already existing (on the map in work or on another map) and then paste them. If you paste sqaure blocks at the end you have to round them to make look more natural, also because if the border forest-field is straight, then you'll notice an artefact (depends on the color of the ground texture too how easy is the artefact visible, for example on Kurland winter the artefact is perfectly visible because the forest is green on a white background).

In other words, make sure to turn anti aliasing off.

Do you know the RGB values for the forest color? Seems like the easy way would be to make a new color in the palate that is exactly the right one, then just paint it (with anti-aliasing off).

Quick question to the cartographers, are the Burma tga's and load.ini available? I haven't been able to extract those ones sucessfully yet. Cry

The easiest way is to use the color selection tool to pick the color from a place you already know there's forest (besides the rgb values there are some other parameters which I don't understand because i'm the noobest of the noobs in image processing hehe). For forest R=G=B=24 and gimp gives me also a parameter called "value" equal to 9.

About *.tga, that cant't be opened ... One guy find "tweak" to do that Idea For this you need use (The link is inoperative) "Splash Screen Changing" mod, but instead splash screen use *.tga, which you want opened Wink And in time, when game is loading, this *.tga will be display as splash screen! You need press PrintScreen, exit from game, load any graphical editor end paste new object from clipboard - and you get picture, which you wont! Big Grin

Of course, picture size will be distort, but, i don't think, what is big trouble Wink

Many *.tga (Wood*.tga, for example) have *.tgb files with same name, which preferable for using, because they have highest resolution Wink

About changing airfield textures, do you mean changing textures of the runways, parking places etc or the texture of the filed surrounding the runways and so on?
With the invention you posted it might be possible to modify the runway etc textures too!

Yes, but, if that textures will be changed, i think, they be changed for ALL maps Cry But i need change these textures only for ONE map! For exampe, i need change "green" textures on default map of Kiev to "brown" textures, like on default map of North-Weast Europe ... understand me? :oops: I want obtain my own city not only in summer, but also in autumn, and, in ideal, in winter and spring Big Grin
