Okay, just to be clear...your modded "files" folder goes in the Mods folder, and not the game root folder. I stupidly put your files folder in the game root. (Which means my "stock" files folder has already been overwritten by your modded one--that shouldn't hurt, right, since when yours is in the Mods folder, it will be read first anyway? Besides, I backed it up.) I'll drop it in the right place and see what happens.
Thanks Tiger!

Oh well, still no joy after plopping the "files" folder directly into the Mods folder. I don't get the paratrooper mesh problem, but I still get the "0x5ed0530e referenced memeory at 0x000051c memory could not be read" error and then CTD. I had this same error message CTD before in the FMB (only) sometime after installing UP2.0, but their 1gig.exe fix took care of that prob and everything's been fine since.
But anyway, thanks for your massive work Tiger. I can't even imagine spending a year's worth of free time on a mod...I hope a fix or a good troubleshoot comes down the pike soon. That video on Youtube has been making my mouth water for a looooong time!

I've put the '0_New Sounds + Flyby' folder into the MODS folder and the Files folder into the main IL-2 folder allowing it to overwrite the existing one ( so the presets and samples got overwritten among other files), and it worked for me...with the correct conf.ini it should work ....One probem tho : the one mentioned by swat007...apart from this....DAMN GOOD !!!!!

This is FANTASTIC.
THANK You Tiger 33.

Not working properly. Only few plane I can fly
- Boomalot - 17.01.2010
Quick question: Will this work for the old school UI 1.1? It's what me and my mates still use. If it won't, I'll simply get a more up to date version.

Tiger, you have written that
"the folder "files" and the folder "0_NewSounds + Flyby" must be placed in the folder Mods as they are in the archive UV2 Final because the wrapper read "Mods" before anything else", but in your packed rar archive I can see something else: "Files" folder (with "Gui", "Presets" and "Samples" sub-folders) is located next to the "Mods" folder. As a result, I thought , just like Saunders, that it should be unpacked to default "Files" folder in the game. I did so, modified conf.ini just like you instructed us in the readme and ran the game (fresh new HSFX ver 4.1 installation over here). So far I did just a few tests on online maps and I've noticed one problem: stock planes seem to work perfectly, but when I try to fly one of the new early P-38s, te game stops responding and I have to kill it manually. I just wonder whether it might be folder related issue, or your mod just doesn't work with new P-38s and B-25s?

It seems most of the problems arise from the incompatibility with the korea pack. it would be good to know what exactly is causing the problem, so we could keep the planes from the korea pack, while only deleting what is unnecessary and have the sound mod work anyway.

If you put "Files" and "0_NewSounds + flyby" in "Mods" everything works normally just delete or save "samples" and "presets" in your old files folder

can someone post the english doc here so I can read it,,not everyone has Word. Ok I did get most of it with Word Pad in win 7.

Can anyone upload it to mediafire so that I can download it with more than 20kb/s?
- Art-J - 17.01.2010
Thanks Tiger for your response.
Allright, I've tried these steps now:
a) the complete "files" folder from your archive went into "mods" folder of my game;
b) didn't have to delete any "samples" or "presets" from my root "files" folder, because in HSFX these are not there anyway;
c) renamed old .preload file from "files" folder;
d) changed conf.ini file according to readme.
Game loads OK, stock planes work, new B-25s work, new P-38s.... don't work - game freezes and I have to kill it with task manager. What else should I try to do? I left the old buttons file where it was, because I understand that the game will load the new one from the "mods" folder anyway, right? Should I delete the old one? And should I delete the old .preload file completely, not just rename it?

Need help!! - gpang788 - 17.01.2010
External flyby sounds worked great but i need some help! Think might not have installed the mod correctly despite following instructions to the latter.
1st, dive sounds dun seem to work at all, unlike in Tiger's video.
2nd, even at idle, engine still screams at flyby. Is it suppose to do that?
3rd, when doubling the aircraft back ( still in flyby mode), aircraft comes round without any flyby sound at all? Is this a bug or is it due to a faulty installation?
Have I botched up my install?
Also noticed some planes have no flyby sounds at all, presume sounds files to be absent...
