If someone can find a way to extract the 3D cockpit from the game and create a way to import it in to 3D Studio MAX (and then export the altered cockpit), I can make the alteration since I have experience in MAX. But then it will have to be implemented again in game as that is out of my knowledge.

I see. .msh extension. Don't know that one. Maybe the Milkshake 3D program.
I'll try to check it out.

I once sit on a fw190, check the pictures here:

The bar was there, the refraction wasn't that big. The bar was not anoying, anyway, because you could move your head, and with the fw (acording to the man who flys it for the display) usualy attacs in a dive, so the target is up in your sight.
By the way, is not there, somewhere, a b29 real cockpit already modeled? I have seen the pics, i remember i did...

Thanks for the pictures and descriptions.

Yes, I remember seeing it. But I believe that was unfinished and never sent to anyone by the modeler.

the B29 with cockpit and gun pits was finished and sent to Oleg/1C
it was rejected for being substandard, not up to graphic quality (and possibly historical quality, im not sure though, so i wnt say it)
ive seen the screenies some time ago, i always wondered WTF wasnt good enuff about them...they were beatuy!

I think it was rejected because issues with the copyright and a court case from grunman (the company) against ubi. The thing is that cockpit was made by 3 party, so it must still exist somewhere. It will be beautiful if you could have it. but i don't know how or who this question should be adress to.

Not possible since the B-29 is a Boeing.

Argh! That cockpit is sooo frickin' beautiful! Makes you really wanna fly it. I guess Oleg didn't want to spend all the effort and time to include it, or he was pissed of by Grumman and didn't want to do any american planes anymore. Sad indeed!

Yeah, but in a diving attack you have to pull a lot of lead to hit your target, so it would disappear under your nose and the rest is a lot of guesswork, i'm sure you know this?
It would be in a climb that your target is in view all the time. But it would surely be possible to raise the gunsight, like the guy on page one of this thread did? Looks like he really already did it. And look how much better the view suddenly is! (And I want that "Be Sure" in my gunsight, too  )

Hot dang that B-29 cockpit is beautiful work 8).
Don't know what is wrong with these people, gotta be a Russian thing.

I think you missed a couple hundred threads at the UBI Zoo in which it was proven beyond any reasonable doubt that the view is incorrect and the bar wasn't visible.
Any more complaining?
