Don 't know if it can be usefull, but i found some parameters for maps.....

WoodH = 16
TILE = 8
TILEMASK = 7
CH_RATIO = 4
CTILE = 32
MTILE = 256
MTILEMASK = 255
PixelSize = 200
PixPerMeter = 0.005

If it can help..... perhaps possibility to change some, but not sure for all and not sure what result....

Finished the coastline of the bit of England which shows.
Will carry on with the French side tonight.
The screenshot shows the Essex coastline looking towards the entrance to the Harwich harbour
No height data yet but Essex is flat anyway.
I put a few buildings in the foreground for scale.
I'm amazed how realistic the sea colouring is -- just as I remember Essex :wink:
The marsh area shown was mainly edited with a 3 pixel airbrush
There is a little tidying up required.
I am busy enough doing coastlines at the moment and will go onto adding rivers but if anyone wants to start on general texturing I will be happy to upload the file. The original file is nearly 44Mb.
Bear in mind it will change. In the screenshot map_F is responsible for dropping Singapore far detail in the distance.

Your a bit premature. I only really got started on it this week.
It is likely to take some time -- probably even more than two weeks Smile

I will put regular updates on here as it progresses and -- if it all works -- would hope to release a basic ground template with minimal roads and minimal features sufficient for visual navigation as early as possible -- but I've no idea at the moment when that might be.

Probably worth putting this into the general discussion section.
What file do these parameters come from?
Only way to find out what they do is to change them and see what happens
The pixel size and PixPerMeter are familar as the scale used on map_h and map_T files
CTile seems to relate to the compression used in map_c files
The CH ratio may be the ratio of the map_c scale to map_h scale
Looks like this may be part of the parameters for defining sizes of map sheets
----------- interesting!

I can only imagine the amount of work required for a project like this. Great stuff.

If you mean the colour of the land you see in the distance, thats map_T that handles that.

Update

Coast of France and most of Belgium completed. Just the complicated bit around Antwerp and Rotterdam to do. First bit of canal/river sketched in at Dunkirk. Useful drawing tools in Photoshop allow you to make these straighter than natural river courses.
Good news is that the maps I have scanned in to do the detailed coastline will also provide road rail forest and town details, so that's all getting set up as I go.
Anyway. Here is how the map_c template now looks.

Can anyone provide 1940's maps of the areas around the main ports. There has obviously been a lot of land reclamation in these areas. Will need Dieppe, Boulogne, Calais, Dunkirk, Ostende Antwerp and Rotterdam. I guess the big harbour at Gravelines nuclear plant is all recent so have ignored it and run the coast through.
