Hey, if it really existed, and it really served, we should have it!
- MrOblongo - 08.07.2008
Any news on this??...now that we have the Thailand map in Alpha Stage it would be great to have the Hawk75N to fight French MS406...

BUMP for addon plane.
- GerritJ9 - 09.07.2008
The demos with D3A and Ki.27 undercarriage show the Wasp-engined Hawk 75A-3 as a basis but the Hawk 75M/N/Q used the Cyclone engine so the Hawk 75A-4 would be a more accurate basis to use.

I had a wee look at this whilst I was learnin with the Whirlwind... Its a tricky one because the undercart holes in the wings are still there... but there is a trick with that that I've learned since, so...

Not the French. The Thai Air Force had Hawk75N... Those planes were also fitted with Gun Pods and bombs under the wings. Dont know how those things flew, but they scored against the Vichy-France MS.406.
Chinesse also got some 100+ of these fixed gear Hawks
Ill post some info later.

INFO ABOUT THAI AIR FORCE
(Includes order of battle)
"This OB gives only 11 Hawk 75Ns because Thailand only bought twelve with 2 fixed 8mm Vickers fuselage guns and removable wing pods for a 20mm Madsen cannon or a Vickers 8mm MG."

Very nice! - Mangas - 09.07.2008
I like this idea about having Hawk-75N in game.
Actually, I have some personal addiction to Curtiss planes... ;-)
As a coincidence, I've started to make a new P-36 skinpack now, and, though it's still a long way to go, would gladly make default skin for this...
Sincere regards,
Mangas.

Good stuff Archie
Mangas Wrote:Why Russia won in WW2 and wins in hockey? Well, can you, for example, drink out a bottle of vodka? No? But any Russian can (and, if needed, even two!)...
Hi Mangas your signature reminded me of an old friend of mine...not Russian, but;
He would often drink a litre and a half of Vodka before going out to the pub / club at night. He could party & fight like a demon but never missed a day of work.
Except on one occasion, when he was late in the morning and was caught by the security guards breaking into the workplace as the gates were closed  The reason he was late, not the vodka even although he was still running on it at the time, is very funny, but I couldn't repeat in public
Last time I heard from him he was well on his way to becoming a self made millionaire. So there must be something in the Vodka theory

But first of all, we miss some China maps !!!
I think that a Guangdong map, with Hong-Kong and Canton would be interesting... also, a Hunan map, with Changsha (there have been 4 big battles for this town !!!) would be interesting... without forgetting Chungqing !!!
- snaphance - 08.10.2008
The Chinese and Thai both used the N and M version. The armament above the engine should be one .50 on the right side, on .30 on the left. Top speed was around 280 mph.

It would be a very nice plane to have, the Argentineans used it for a very long time. We used the Hawk 75 O version, wich was very similiar to the N version. 29 Curtiss were bought and a licence to make 200 on our military plane factory. Here are some pictures of the O Curtiss in Argentinean paint scheme, if the mod is released, an Argentinean skin would be nice
.
