I got impatient and cracked that filter to bits... other cameras have the filter detachable (like that A4tech PK-336MB). With the IR filter out the camera starts seeing a lot more "light" and the image is thus more desaturated and "burned". After you install the "visual range filter" the camera will see only IR... depending of the strenght of the filter it will se more or less.

My recommandation... buy a cheap 1.3 MP (interpolated) webcam like that PK-336MB and make it pay the sacrifice for your playtime Big Grin. You can use two webcams without problems in XP... one for Freetrack and one for messengers etc...

I am running bootcamp and I am trying to use the built in apple isight. The app just crashes when I switch it to the camera. Any ideas?

Works fine and better, cheap easy to built and software free.
Do it and you will can not fly without it : )
