[SEMI OT] Do you guys still get the sound of the flak shrapnel hitting the aircraft skin, when the burst is close, but not close enough to do damage? (Sounded like hail hitting a coregated roof.)

- panzerkeil - 17.02.2008

JAMF: These sounds are exp2_54.wav and exp3_11.wav
Still have them! 8)

Thanks! I guess I fly in a straight line too little for the FLAK to get that close to me. Wink

~S All,

Is there a PRS file that can be adjusted slightly to increase the rocket sound?

Thanks,

Buzzard 8)

Find weapon.rocket_132.prs and weapon.rocketgun_132.prs in your sound.sfs files

Can someone tell me which PRS file I change to get the Flak Burst louder? I haven't seen the actual file mentioned...

Thanks! Smile

Thanks Panzer I'll give it a go! Dusty Flak link is on page 1 of this post

Hey panzer,

I found several sound SFS files in the main folder. What do I open those files with? Am I going about this all wrong? I just want to turn up the rocket sound a little bit.

Thanks again sir,

Can someone PM me VP's files for the flak sounds? Filefront is a no go for me!

- panzerkeil - 18.02.2008

Buzzard open the file "files.sfs" in your il2 main folder with sfs extractor (download can be found here on the forum under IL2 MOD TOOLS & UTILS)
Find "weapon.rocket_132.prs" and "weapon.rocketgun_132.prs" and extract these files.
Then edit them with notepad.
The volume can be adjusted under the [spl] setting
Not sure what the rest means though..
Then place the file in your " ...\IL2\files\presets\sounds" folder if you have one of the sound mods installed, or create your own mod in the "mods" folder and create subfolders there: "...\IL2\MODS\\presets\sounds" if you have the new wrapper.
That's it!

I did notice however that if you increase the volume of too many files you can get some strange side-effects like engine sounds suddenly muting; see the posts in the forums under the sound mods. There are some limitations in the sound engine.
