as far as the live fire, it doesnt sound like that. for the sounds I referenced " The History Channels-DOGFIGHTS" so that was my point of reference. I messed with the browning50x file, which is the exterior sound, and found a good one, but in game it wasn't loud enough. I even edit sound and made it louder, but then in game it doesnt sound the same. but I was happy with these results. hope you can enjoy. thanks for your post. I really like p-40 also.

just installed and testd this mod and i have to say really good work mate,I'm not sure if this is like they sounded but to me they sound how i always thought they should sound and thats perfect for me

The best 50 cal sounds so far.As soon as i have heard them i thought to my self these sounds sound just like the ones in the dogfights on history channel, and i was right.Are they realistic that i dont know coz i have never heard a real 50 cal :lol:

Not bad... Not quite right either though. I heard the P-40 at wanaka let loose with her 6 .50's, and it sounded much more impressive than that. Mind you, that was from a flyby...

yea, I really wish I could get a perfect rendition of the 50cal. but I looked up many videos, and got a lot of different sounds. I know its not perfect, but to me its what I wanted to hear. I'm still mixing the exterior sound file. want to give it more of a punch... so we'll see.

So how does the 50 cal sounds.I have heard them in the movies(and we all know that thats a poor reference),and in ww2 documentaries (and there, the sounds were added later,i think).I saw on youtube p 40 makeing a strafing run on an air show and it sounded very poorly(like he was fireing from a bee bee gun).So do u know where i can get introduced to a real thing(movie,wav file,whatever) :lol:

Its at times like this when I wish I'd recorded our 50cals, or the Dushka's we'd captured or confiscated..
There is nothing to compare with the sounds, vibrations and smells of those big boys when hammering away, and watching the impact at target end..
Sadly, what we have in game doesn't do it justice.
Not sure when I'm going to meet up with the machine gun platoon again, but I will have to find some way to get a proper recording! :wink:
