I would love to see this bird added in a separate slot!

Its pretty. I agree: It should have its own slot.

Beautiful aircraft mod, I love it. Have Yak-7B/cutdown skins for the Yak-9 from CanonUK (canonskins) but now I have the real thing!
Didn't have any skins specifically for the Yak-7B/PF anyway. I get the impression it was pretty rare, and most Yak-7 airframes would be being converted to the Yak-9 standard with the cut-down fuselage soon after the PF engine came out.
Anyone have any particular details about this variant of the Yak? I'd love to know more.

http://www.vectorsite.net/avyak1.html has estimates production at around 5000 examples for the Yak-7B and about 1400 for all of the other Yak-7 variants combined. It doesn't say what the ratio is between the PA and PF though.
S!

I found this in Russian. I can ~sort of~ read Russki and understand a little bit but not nearly good enough to translate this whole thing:

Here's some in English:

Here some with production numbers:

I just checked it out, this is indeed a great mod, the plane is beautiful! I hope some kind soul among the mod wizards will turn this into a new plane slot...

Actually this bird would be better if Mr. Jolly and his team will insert there Yak-9 cockpit instead of existing Yak-7B. I've spoken with Jolly already ask him about new slot and cockpit change - no replay yet. Have to wait.

I can swap the cockpits if needs be (its very simple and within the reach of my humble skills). I have no idea about the slots however...
It would be nice to improve the rivet textures as well...

The Russian Aircraft Museum site was absolutely fantastic, I've spent nearly half the day there already!
Thanks

isnt it is the same as yak 9? or yak1B :?

Yak-1 series has nothing to with Yak-7 or -9. The -1 and -3 series are lightweight fighters while -7 and -9 are "regular" fighters. Yak-9 is a further development of this Yak-7B M-105PF, this bird comes in between the -7B we have in game (the "razorback" version) and the Yak-9, this was the first of the "heavy" Yaks to feature cut-down rear fuselage and an all-round canopy. Yak-9 introduced further aerodynamic refinement and some equipment upgrades.

ah i get your point!

Ah thanks for the clarification on Gargot
lol
Looks real good - nice work. Will be nice to have her in her own slot... just like having the teardrop Spit in her own slot too...
But anyway, good work mate. Gotta love the Yaks.
