I'm sorry for DL link with Rapidshare but I have some problem with Web access for now...

my ISP shoot down my connection, conflict between us for money, so I have to use my neighbor

wi-fi connection ( ... he don't know...) but I can't abuse of that...

So I'll try to post alternative DL link for those who don't like Rapidshare.

Maybe you can wait for official DL link made by Fly_zo soon I hope

For message about non working in game, :?: :?: :?:

For me, if you follow rules in Installation.txt, it's OK

I use some 4.091 objects, maybe it is a reason :?: :?:

For Fly_zo - delvpier - 03.05.2008

I choose dlv_ for prefix

So : Folder maps/dlv_Sinai

Textures dlv_name_of_texture

Thank you for your help, regards

How long did it take for you to make this map delvpier??

TS

Because well, if you can whip up a map quickly, it would be great if we had a map of the arctic ocean... The Luftwaffe could make air attacks on convoys, launched from bases in Norway...

Thoughts??

Well, first files are quiet easy to have with tools provided here, 1 day

After you have to find the right textures for your map, and it can take several days, I mean full working days, if you want to create new textures.

But for me, the most difficult was to populate map, cities, airfields, harbors.
As I was alone, I decided to have a help using Autopopulat tool for cities and airfields.
But it is a very versatile tool. For example, you can place exactly he same area of pixels at two different places on map_T and you have two different populated places :?: :?: :?: :?:

I worked full time, from 07:00 to 01:00 (passions!), since Saturday !

I intend to release an How-to Pdf, because I have some good tips about manipulating map_c, using Autopopulate tool, using Gimp and Photoshop for textures and so on. Nothing pretentious but some help for newbies (...as I was !) who would make their own map.

For new project, it is not really possible because I start a new job on Monday... I had plenty to do for that but with this map I made ... nothing !

But since a few days I have an idea on my mind,... and DEM files on my computer : a fench base in Asia surrounded by some places named Gabrielle, Dominique, Anne-Marie, Isabelle, Beatrice, Huguette, Eliane. Do you see what I mean ?

But this is not for next week...

Fantastic work delvpier Smile

Really glad you released this map.

Yet I have discovered a problem:

It is quite problematic having to manually plot a course through the canal, especially with a whole carrier force. Ain't there a way to clearly mark the canal as a river suitable for ships?

Right now one has to edit the mission file in a text editor to get a ship through it.

Zorin Wrote:Yet I have discovered a problem

Well, I didn't see that

When I started this map, I tried to put some ships waypoints on the canal and I had problems with some portions. I could place on some portions and not on others of small size.

I though it was because in game there are some routines to prevent having ships on land, in other words you can't place a waypoint for a ship less than some distance.
So for the canal, two sides, each forbidden zone covers the opposite side.... I think so.

So I decided not to investigate further.... because if I want to enlarge the size of the canal, it would be unrealistic, sorry.

Anyway, now I don't have time anymore to work on it... and I go to sleep, it's 03:30 here !

you really only need to plot a course for one ship....and have the rest use the same co-ords....following after one another like sheep

Do have any error message when trying to load the map ?

Did you download the sef-exe install file from this forum ? It's better as it places all things in the right place...

Made for 4.091bm version of game, maybe check your version.

It seems no one else reported non loading problem...
