After seeing Sharnhorst reply, I figured I should specify that the method I use is to NOT replace the "in game" DGEN with DCG's version. I always use DCG as a shell program and ALT-
TAB to it in order to generate missions.
I mainly use DCG for COOP multiplay rather than single play.
Just to clarify . . . .

One of the files should be planes.ru. It is found in MODS/STD/18N OR FILES/!8N
Another file is weapons.ru, also found in the !8N folder.
I think you also have to add a line to the air.ini file. It is found in MODS/STD/COM/MADDOX/CHIEF ... i think ...
Re: adding new planes to DCG - Senshi - 17.08.2008
Just to make another overview including the newest planes
Last refresh: 20.08.08
Adding new planes to DCG and campaigns is rather simple if you know where to look:
Open the IL2DCG\Data\class.dcg
Adding the RWD 8
Add this
Code:
RWD_8 RWD 8 pl 1 1 1 193402 194009 P_11C RWD_8 none 3000 Meters 250.00 kph Default 240.00 kph
after the R_10 line
Adding the Hurricane IID
Add this:
Code:
HurricaneMkIId Hurricane Mk.IId gb 1 1 1 194201 194409 none HurricaneMkIId HurricaneMkIIc 5000 Meters 360.00 kph Default 360.00 kph
Adding the SpitfireMkI:
By fly_zo
Add this
Code:

in a new line after the SBD5 line
Adding the Bf110 G4
By I/ZG52_gaga
Add this
Code:

Adding the Me-410 Hornisse A, B, D
by Senshi
Add this
Code:

Adding the Mosquito Mk.XVI
By Senshi
Add this
Code:
MOSQUITO16 Mosquito B. MK XVI gb 1 4 1 194401 194612 none MosquitoFBMkVI MOSQUITO6 5000 Meters 460.00 kph Default 460.00 kph
after the MOSQUITO6 line
After that, startup the il2dcg.exe and go to the "Aircraft Class Settings Panel". Here you can now edit all parameters if you don't like mine, but you HAVE TO choose for each weapon setting the "default" one. Otherwise DCG won't recognize any loadouts for missions ans would abort mission generation with these planes.
Now all planes are ready to use for players. To set up a good AI surrounding and campaign weapon loadout, the following is required to be done:
Problem is: Especially bombers or CAS planes would always fly just with default loadout, usually without bombs. To fix this, you have to do the following:
Open the IL2DCG\Data\allpayloads.dcg
Adding correct payloads for Hurricane MkIId
Add
Code:

Adding correct payloads for Beaufighter Mk.X

Now once again open the il2dcg.exe and setup the specific loadouts in the Aircraft Class Settings Panel for each mission type to your liking.
For the lazy among us, I have uploaded
a package with the files with my setup.
DOWNLOAD LINK UPDATED 20.08.08
Just unzip it to your IL2DCG\Data\ folder and say overwrite "yes". You might consider to make a backup of your folders in any case...
Required: All current "New Aircraft"-Mods (SpitfireMkI, Bf110 G4, Beau Mk.X, Me-410, RWD-8, HurricaneMkIId, Mosquito MkXVI)
Changes: Everything as written above, additionaly all aircraft have been marked as "playable", so the "AAA Aircraft Mod Pack" is suggested, but not required.
My files are designed for the current IL2DCG v3.38, but should work with the recent versions too.
If you encounter any errors, please report them immediately
.
Making the planes choseable in the campaigns itself finally was already described elsewhere in this forum and really is a piece of cake.
If you don't like my fantasy settings, just fire up il2dcg.exe as usual and edit to your liking
Where to find the necessary datato add planes by myself
Just open MODS\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects\air.ini
Here you find the necessary data which has to be added to class.dcg
And open MODS\STD\i18n\weapons_ru.properties
for the allpayloads.dcg data

Thanks Senshi! I did have one minor problem with your instructions. For the Mosquito the payload choices were not showing up at all in DCG. I tracked it down to the symantec of "Mosquito16" versus "MOSQUITO16" in your allpayloads.dcg entries.
It needs to be all capitals . . . . . . FYI . . . . .
- Senshi - 20.08.2008
Glad I could help
You're right, Kamikaze, of course all aircraft codes have to be capitalized everywhere.
Will fix it right away :!:

Senshi could you repost the link to your dcg files? I tried the link above, but it just takes me to an upload site.

Guys , you have misunderstood this thread .....
it is explanation/tutorial how to do it , and not Senshi will do it for you for every new plane mod

Sorry fly_zo - but since Senshi has a link in his 8/17 post to an already updated dcg file, it seemed like a fair question.

Bah ... didn't work.
(tried to add B_29SP to DCG ... )

I'd sure love the detailed information on how to add some of the new maps to DCG.
I've seen some of it in previous threads but using one of Fly-zo's as an example would help a bunch.
thx.
