Would this work global on a server or would all need the mod?

Does your mod call a particular .mat or .tga?

- Fireball - 16.05.2008

Only those who have the mod will see the different moon phases. Those without the mod would see the normal default moon (moon 15 I believe).

No, I think its just using the 18 or 19 files you found. And I don't want anyone to think I ginned this up from scratch. It looks like the game was all setup to go using different moon phases. Then for some reason they decided to just hardcoded a 15 in there. I just redirected it to get the number from the mission file.

And just to emphasize, the mod idoesn't have to actually be installed on the server. The server just needs to have that MoonPhase parameter in the mission file.

This is all assuming I fix the FMB bug.

- Fisneaky - 16.05.2008

moon0017 was the one that showed in my skin tests.

Have you tried FMB in 4.09 and 4.08? I 've got a minor glitch with FMB+ in 4.09b in that it doesn't show the "loading" message, but just freezes till map appears. (Still workable though)

Is it in the FMB+, Enhanced FMB (aka Map editor), or just Standard FMB? Because it might be a simple conflict with other stuff...

- Fisneaky - 16.05.2008

This is how the skins could look

Yes , fly me too the moon. Thats more like it, nice.

- Tigershark - 16.05.2008

Starforce, thats the piracy protection stuff... now isnt it??

Okay I think we are getting of task here, I thinking getting rid of the illumination will have more of a pitch black effect...

but how??

- Fisneaky - 16.05.2008

The lighting does seem fixed regardless of the moons position in fireballs mod; so finding the files that control that and how to adjust them I guess .

Not really my area of knowledge or expertise. could equally be in maps.sfs or files.sfs and almost certainly a part of the basic graphics engine.

OK, I just posted version b2, which should fix the problems with Full Mission Builder. If you have the original b1 version, make sure you delete that one before you use this new version, otherwise the game will still try to load the old version.

Available here:

(The link is inoperative)

I didn't make any other changes, but I will take another dive into the class files when I get a chance to see if I can figure anything out about the lighting.
