Il-2 Resource center, not centre

depends center for middle and centre for a place and also i think there are american and english ways of spelling this or maybe not but that's probably meters

- Guest - 22.05.2008

Yeah, it could be the wrong spelling - I'm just throwing out basic layout ideas at the moment, any typo's, etc can be sorted out before a choice is made.....
Big Grin
As Raptor mentioned : meters ----this is correct
metres ----also correct
Guess its up to Jolly and Co to decide which spelling they want to use...

Idea Perhaps you could have an Animated Picture?

Something on these lines: First image you see All Aircraft Arcade and something with it and then it changes picture background to a plane of some sort or somethin and then you get Home to Rolling Thunder Squadron... and then qualities of rolling thunder squadron pop up with certain pictures or you have images of aircraft made by the aaa team with the aircraft name popping up with each one if you get what i mean....

Here's an example: http://www.stjamesschools.co.uk/seniorboys/

That's the website of my school and they use somethin like that for the main image. I'm sure miker can make one if he's still on, haven't seen him for ages... If not I have the resources to make an animated .swf banner (it will probably be a flash image swf file anyway not gif) I just need the pictures that you guys pick and whatever writing you want on it....

In the same vein as my earlier one...

It still needs a bit of work...
I've got a few different styles WIP at the moment...
Will post some soon...

Mike10 we all like what you have done but the AAA is a bit much in the background + the 'all you want' is a bit blured

It should show some Aircraft that the Community Built that look unlike anything else, (just a suggestion)

like the Hurk D with those Sick set of Cannons, or the 410, and such.

Basicly where you see a Mod in the Banner and go "Whoa thats not in the game!" I think it might draw folks in or at least make them smile, lol.

If the banner is being posted on other sites as a link, that makes sense, as long as the fact that the plane is a mod is immediately apparent. If it's just a banner for the site, everyone here already knows that this is a mod site. If they don't, a qucik look around will make that immediately apparent

I'm not pushing what I made. I just thought that maybe the banner should express a concept rather than a plane per se. The idea is that with the mods you are more free to soar. Takes nationalities out of it, or puts more than one into it. The eagle was a symbol for some of the German forces during the war and has been a symbol for American forces as well.

Trying to promote thinking outside of the box. We aren't limited to making a new, revised version of what has already been.
