Carnagexxx Wrote:How do i deinstall the old Acemaker Mod that was around here for a while ?

for the late P47

I want to use your nice mod but i believe its get trouble if I installed it over the old acemaker

I reinstalled a version of IL2 (4.09b), left the filelist in place, installed the K14-Acemaker Mod, and then installed my P47D gunsight mod.

Actually I didn't see any major conflicts even when both mods were installed and active, other than the K14 sight that appeared was from the earlier mod. Still, others have reported conficts, so to be safe you should probably run the K14Acemaker uninstall found here:

P47_K14_Gyro_Gunsight_UNINSTALL_v2.exe (The link is inoperative)

This will also remove the 50 associated files in filelist that look like

3D0/Cockpit/P-47D-25/......

I have edited the files that caused the FMB problem, I will do some more testing to be sure.

Good Luck,

Poncho

FMB Bug Corrected - poncho - 09.06.2008

The FMB bug should be corrected now. Also I changed the tinting on some of the sights.

Please give it a go and let me know what you think Smile

Great Work! - RNBeavis - 28.06.2008

Poncho, thanks for taking the time to do this - finally the P47 is worth flying! Cheers :-)

Thanks for trying them RNBvs Smile ,

To all, this is the thread I will be using for any gunsight updates in the future. I should have just overwritten the original post instead of adding new ones. Sorry for any confusion.

Poncho. It seems the sights are still off. Dunno how easy it is to fix but its affecting my gunnery esspecially in the heat of combat when you can't compensate for the real location of the bullets.

I made some quick overlays to show where they are off compared to the real center of the bullets. It may not look like much but where the .50s power relies on convergence points, it can adversely affect your gunnery

The brighter ring and point on your gunsight's position. And the one with more fade is the real point.

Ball centered ?

At last!!! Thanks a lot for the fixes!! BTW, could also correct the Mustang III american-type gunsight to the british one? The UK Mustangs used the same gunsight as the Mosquito

Many thanks for the Jugwork. Has done wonders. I have had no trouble with my sights---convergence hitting right on the pipper. The P-47 is my favorite fighter. Keep up the great work.

does anybody know how to lean to the left in the cockpit enough to use the iron sight

- zaelu - 12.07.2008

Till the default position is corrected in some of the planes the only solution is to raise (or lower) your body a bit and then center/reset your Fretrack/TIR, after that sit in normal position.

It works for me for 109s, 190s, P47s, Do-335. Planes like Go-229 and Me-262 have way off positions.

Pappy,

I designed the iron sights to be functional in combination with the 6DOF mods. I don't have Track IR so I'm not sure if that alone will allow you to use the iron sights. Hope that helps. Good Luck.

Just D/L and installed this in the MODS folder, but it does not appear to have taken effect. I'm still seeing the original coarse polygon reflector glass rather than the much improved rounded glass. I did not see anything in the 1st post of the thread nor in the Readme saying it required v4.09, but I am still using the 4.08M with AAA sound mod (and other wonderful addons thanx to this site). Could that be my problem?

- poncho - 13.07.2008

Spectre,

The mod will work with either 4.08 or 4.09b. Go inside the first folder, there you will find a readme file and a folder named P_47DGunsights_v1.2. Drop this folder into your mods folder and it should go.

Good Luck,

Poncho

Thanks, poncho. I should've seen the problem before firing off the red flare. WinRar apparently made two P_47DGunsights_v1.2 folders, one containing the other. No wonder XP had trouble making it work! All is well, I appreciate your patience and hard work.

8-10-08 update - poncho - 11.08.2008

I have done some fine tuning of sightlines and reticle position using thirdeye's ingenious overlay technique. Let me know what you think. I also have added some additional gunsight detail, and panel hooding. This update does not have the much anticipated cockpit textures by Taurus, but I did want to get some feedback on the gunsight adjustments I have made before the big cockpit release. I have also added an additional dl link for those who have trouble with filefront.

Thanks,

Poncho
