Kriegsmarine ships did have a swastika like that at some point in their careers at least, so I can't see anything wrong with it. It's just a stylized skin.
When we have a proper Graf Zeppelin, we can talk again. And even then there's nothing wrong with somebody making a stylized skin for it.
Sure, but would you be happy with a Saratoga in full flag like ready for a parade while playing a pacific campaign?
It would be a stylized skin but out of place just like a Graf Zeppelin with a giant swastika on her flight deck.
he
should be happy with the Saratoga that way, since the way both the Lex and Sara are represented in the game are pre war anyways. Well, actually the Sara is a bastardization, but you get the point.
personally, I don't see the real issue with having a swastika on the GZ skin, but the author might as well have painted it pink with tulips on the side since this ship never saw service anyways

Proves me right that this is a lost case....
Guess any further work on the Graf Zeppelin in the Pacific campaign would have ended the same way, so I'm rather glad we stopped working on it...

Perhaps, if one is not satisfied, one could make their own.

This should be enough for both of you to stop arguing over nonsense.... Just like the old days, eh Trooper?

whether you like it or not, be damn thankful someone is creating something for you and this mod community or stfu and make one yourself.
there's your pearl of wisdom right there.

lol!.. Yeah, just like the old days..
I guess I'm just a WWII snob really, if a mod doesn't have any historical significance I'll never use it.. But thats just me, but I do recognise that if people are making their own mods then they should be able to portray it any way they desire.. it matters not a jot to me if this thing has a swastika on it or not, I'll never use it as I don't do 'fantasy what if made up scenarios'.. (told you I was a snob)..

That's just a model, which proves nothing, nor does it add or subtract from the argument going on. Modelers are just like skinners, they represent things as they please, and dont have to be 100% right.
I made a GF skin a little while back, and Zorin explained why there shouldnt be a swastika on the upper deck, and it made sense. I agree with the guy.

Of course, all naval vessels had them, but NEVER on active duty... What is so hard to get about it?...
- Trooper117 - 28.06.2008
Never.. Mmm, Just been looking at some photos of the wreck of the Bismark.. Even after all this time underwater, the large swastika is still visible..

- Trooper117 - 28.06.2008

Oh go on then..

Check the Paintschemes section and you'll find out that the Swastika was overpainted during 1941 when her real career began, because it was recognized as a failure to have such huge recognition markings painted on ships. They rather painted the turret tops in different colors to aid friendly recognition.

That you can see the swastika now on the wreck is due to the fact that the grey overpaint has washed away.

I'm sticking with that.

This is silly, have you ever thought about making another skin without swastika, I'm sure that it would take less time and effort than making all of these posts.
BTW who don't like Illustrious as GZ he can use any other carrier in it's place so what is the problem?
Even better, you can delete GZ completely, nothing terrible is going to happen.
This discussion looks very much like women approach to problems, lot of talk no action.
