I think you are deluding yourselves.. There were many pilots that were 'very' up for killing the enemy..

Great Mod R_One !!!
juste two suggestions :
first suggestion:
this great mod is hidden in "skins downloads" , so most people do not know this great mod exists, which actually has nothing really related to building skins (except that R_One created them to place them around new hangars).
Maybe the admin can move this real full mod into a more better place where it would be more logical to find it ? maybe in section "IL2 MODS DOWNLOAD v4.08" ?
Second things : can those new objects be inserted in the game as static objects ? because right now when you kill a soldier the coop.txt does not record the destruction so you can not build a campaign using a parser using those objects.

Hi Balto. THX for your congratulations.
1. You are right. I find too that this Builduing section is not seen by AAA users.
2. Impossible. Soldiers are inert objects. I don't know how to transform them into static object.
THX.

And it should stay that way...
Otherwise, people will be able to score kills from people kills... Why would you want to chalk up human ground kills??? It adds to your ground kill score...
Cheers!

Because in the actual war straffing of enemy troops was always a support role of fighters for their own side, and still is today........realism i think is the idea here, however gruesm it may be. :?

+1 with Boomer : this is a WW2 sim game , WAR game...and straffing and bombing humans was one of the tasks of airplanes during ww2.
R_One : i think some people here can transform the 'objects' into 'chiefs' or 'ships' or 'stationnary' as some people know how to create and enable New aircraft.
Maybe one day, someone with the knowledge will have time to look on this.
Still i enjoy this mod. It really put lot of immersion on the game.
One of my favourite mod, thank you.

If you clearly read what I wrote, you will understand what I am talking about... I am NOT saying anything about "actual war starfing", or about how strafing soilders was a "task" pilots had to do... Yes of course, it will stay that way...
I am discussing the changing of status or creating a new infantry object as a static.ini object...and how we should not explore this. Otherwise, from a "ground kill" standpoint, one could chalk up thousands of points just from strafing human soldiers all day, which may or may not have the equal value of say a tank or vehicle, and that, in turn would not be authentic in the campaign briefing screen we see after a sortie...
Again, to clarify,
its not about being "historically" accurate in terms of human kills alone, its about whether or not you want to give the player actual points for killing soilders (static objects) in IL2...
And for the record, Pilots, in WWII, would brag about the 'Tiger' they knocked out or the 'column of trucks' they put in flames... and they would score and log that. They did not however, make any effort to log or track the amount of people they mowed to the ground... They may have made estimates in debreifing with their officers, but they did not mark it or paint it on their plane...

You miss the biggest part of the point, Tshark, and i will try to clarify :
We are not just discussing getting points for human kill.
We are discussing the way to use the infantry mod in an online campaign.
And the coop.txt does not record the static objects destruction.
So if you want to gain some ground by killing some infantry units you cant.
And i think this is a base of any war game : kill some infantry to gain some ground.
and...keep in mind...this is a military air war simulator...
we are not talking about flight simulator, another game where you dont gain any points by killing anybody.

Which is a good thing, cause that way you won't get awarded with points killing people.
Yes, I of course... Leave it as an object, give it object status...
Agreed.....

Getting points for killing humans is a little bit off topic :x

No, you need static.ini to add new static objects. Download here:
