You can point it to Notepad or Wordpad; it's just a text file.

Thank you Maven !!!

I've explored you mod further...

Good idea to give explanations for each data , but I still have a question  : what 's the difference between .eff and .mat files ?? They seem to refer to the same datas and I can't understand how they work together ...

Hopefully someone that's an expert with MAT files will chime in and offer a detailed explanation for you. I am learning these also, but I can tell you in general terms what they do. The MAT files that I am familiar with work with the various graphic files (e.g. TGA) and tell the graphics engine/card how to render the graphic (e.g. which low-level graphic options to use). The .EFF files are more like "programs" in that they determine more the animation of the graphic object (e.g. particles, sprites, etc). This includes how many, what angles, speeds, size, color, render time, etc.

DK-nme,

I am running 4.08m and I have not tried the 4.09bm, so I do not know what the issue is. I'm sure someone here can help though.

Smoke.

It's possible to have a white smoke version? I'm not sure but I think brown smoke is not so realistic. Anybody know if it's or not?

I'm having opposite effect you are I see the new hit flashing on the 4.09b1m. When I switch back, I only get the Grey puffs of smoke so somethings causing it not to work correctly?

Further testing reveals that it works on the Spit MKI; I shoot at the BF109E2s and get great hit effects but other planes not getting those effects.
