Thanks, Colin! I'll check it out as best I can with my dialup connection, lol :!:
Thanks again, M8 :!:

Ok, Colin, I get it :!:
I guess it's like most other conveniences; if you have it you use it, if you don't then you find some other way.
At any rate, the plane still needs to be cut out. If you make the initial selection precisely then you probably don't need any enhancement. This tool comes into play after the selection is made so why not just be precise with making the initial selection :?:
There's nothing at all wrong with it, of course. If you're used to using it then why change? It's fine either way
Yeah, I know, everything keeps getting bigger and bigger. Most programs could be made a lot smaller but companies would rather purchase modules, which are usually very bulky, rather then pay for the software guys to make something compact. The companies who sell the modules don't want to pay for the labor required to make the modules compact either and that is why they are bulky. It all comes down to the same old story, $$$ :!:

I agree 100% with you, you still on dial up???? blimey mate
I think by being precise is worth doing, still keep the old way, with maybe the option to add a little help from the new tools. I like CS3, it has a lot of option for colour correction, B/W correction and so on, I think its getting bigger and bigger, to me its trying to combine Illustrator ideas to it, which for me is good as i could never get my head around Illustrator.
I think what suits your needs and if you can achive the same results in PS5 as I can in PS CS3 then we are all happy
I'll have a little bash tonight with cutting out, you have inspired me
cheers

Yeah, it doesn't matter whether we get there by donkey cart or by fast rail as long as we get there :!:
If I had the money to spare I would get a new Photoshop but it's not in the budget right now. Hopefully things will be better in the future and I will be able to indulge myself :!:
Yeah, still on dialup, lol! There's only one cable provider in my area and I dislike the company. There's also DSL available here. If anything, I would go with the DSL as it doesn't cost much more than I am paying for dialup now. Heck, I might even put the horse out to pasture and get one of those automobile things one day

BTW, the background photo I used is of exceptional quality. There's more to it as I cropped the bottom. If anyone would like to grab it and mess around with it just let me know and I'll tell you where to get your hands on it :!:

Thats a good idea, I'd say yes, i'd like to see what I can come up with.
I was looking at some paintings from those great artists who have made some stunning portraits of various combats or famous pilots, and it got me thinking of trying to duplicate a painting just using IL2, not sure if it'll work as setting up all the places and object could take some time, then getting the camera angle right, just a though.
On the other hand by taking one background like the one you used in this fabulous shot and geting other people to add something to it would be interesting.
if you could show me the way to that page I would very much appritiate it.
Cheers

Sure thing, Colin! Would be nice to see a lot of people playing around with it. Always interesting to see what folks come up with :!:
Here's the site:
www.sxc.hu
You have to sign up but that is entirely painless.
Login, go to "Advanced Search" option. At the bottom of the dropdown list there is a section for regions and cities. Click on "Paris". When I grabbed it, it was the first image in that section but sometimes they move things around :!:
That site has a pretty good selection of large images of reasonable quality. You can specify in "Advanced Search" if you only wish to view images without any restrictions, if you don't want to mess with those.
Have fun, Colin :!:
Cheers,
Fats

Were you able to find the image, M8 :?:
If not, let me know and I'll email it to you. Just let me know your maximum email file size as the image is quite hefty. Might have to reduce size to fit it in your email.

wow! I was already a member of that one, just had to get a reminder, but I got the picture, cheers
