You're right BC. All day missions with seamless maps of some variety would be great. And those had better be off line, or you better have a bucket and a handy 'pilot relief system' improvised  Confusedhock:

Talk about immersion Wink

Though the campain aspect having merit, for the most part folks are NOT willing to sit at their PC and fly 6 hours. There might be a select few (single digits), yet most quite simply won't to enough of a degree that such a huge flight area would ever be used. In reality what most would be used for are outlying area's to get from off the map to near the edge...So in reality I believe the issue is more wanting more maps or expanding what there is with it's own issues as to size.

Personally, I'd like to see some of the current maps that are massive down sized. What I mean by that is, not reducing scale as I personally prefer 1:1, yet instead of a massive region that will never or rarely get used, take that same massive map and fraction it up into say 5.

Using your numeral pad, imagine the massive 1-9.......You may as well still have that map, yet in addition you'd also have 1,2,4,5 / 2,3,5,6 / 4,5,7,8 / 5,6,8,9 / 5 as the cener and portions of all other keys the same size as 4 keys......That way online it's all a bit more managable. Want to fly the massive? Go for it, yet if you know it will all take place in a particular section.

After all, once the whole map is done though an over simplification isn't it just removing the rest to get a sub map?

Ah... a sub map is something I am all too familiar with from Silent Hunter 4:
- 1:1 maps and lots of fast forwarding

Myself and some other gents here from SHIV

Here's the combo I envision

Interlocking maps in MULTIPLAYER would be great, like the battle of britain or somthing like that... But if they had it in MULTIPLAYER they should have way more players like 200 (Or 100).
