Hi WH,
Heres the original in game shot on which the pic is based around ...GFX Card ATi 9800 Pro AGP interface 256mb DDR OB Ram, plus 1.5 gig DDR Ram in Machine. Game Display settings at 'Excellent'.
I can assure you it was taken at the resolution stated and then the procedures applied after the shot are an accurate description of how It was done.
If there is any loss in clarity which does occur to an extent, usually jaggies/pixelation in lines, I take care of those with similair procedures, usually using the tools described mostly the smudge tool on lines that have become jaggy or pixelated, to re clarify them if need be. But bare in mind although I increase the size to 3000x only to work on ( the bigger the image the easier it is to work on being my only concern here), I reduce it again for the finished work, which will then more often than not reclarify it.
I would reduce the large image to anything between 1024x & 2500x....Only adding a sharpening action of no more than 10% for a larger image
Also please note, I usually use my own skins to make screenshots, they are usually super detailed and sharp which does transpose extremely well in game and perhaps this does have a bearing on how large the image can be made
On saying the the angle of the subject in this shot shows little detail in comparison to what a side shot of this skin would show
Other folk who have my skins & use them have told me on occasion you can tell my skins a mile off, which is exactly why I used to make them, no point making them if they look like everyone elses
Hope that makes it a little clearer mate
Regards
