Hmm..would open up the possibility of slaughtering a lot of defenceless pack animals when shooting up a German supply column Sad ..no, not for me thank you.

.... and how about new plane slot ... only not plane but dozen birds ( modeled) .... no collision and weird FM .... of course WM would be when they take a dump ( is that polite expression for poo ?)

only half kidding here ...

The German army used a lot more horses for transport than trucks. I think also the Russians, though they had lots of American built trucks as well.
Jane's WWII Fighters had horse drawn wagons and running deer- I always got a kick out of seeing a deer flush and run by as I was strafing.

Well, I know the Russian peasants had many cows, goats and the such...

And I know the French farmers, even though they were occupied by the Germans, still carried on and had cows, goats and the such...

And I am pretty sure horses are animals:

Flying very low and suddenly passing over a field full of livestock would be very immersive indeed. 8)

why, where they all evacuated , or did they all cease to exist? lol

I completely forgot that there were horse and carts used by the military for supplies. Seeing these must have been a daily occurance for the jabos!

The suggestion for stationary objects to simulate commonly seen livestock and other animals is a worthwhile and mature suggestion. Lets try to discuss it in a grown up manner eh?

Oh, they ceased to exist pretty quick, alright.

well, since this is an flying simulation then sorry but i'm more interested in birds then in horses and dogs ....

we have bicycles as object , and you may spot it eventually only if taxing near it .... or running from burning plane . Same way with horses IMHO

I'm with Bee here. Top idea, definitely worth serious discussion.
This and footsoldiers are the two things that really kill the atmosphere in IL2. I mean for one "troop concentrations" were a routine ground attack target and of course one of opportunity for any low flying combat aircraft.
Civilian transport columns definitely consist primarily of pack animals, whilst most armies used a majority pack animals with motorised columns only towards the front lines (for obvious reasons).
Then there is the livestock consideration, as Bee mentioned.

I mean if it is indeed possible, it's definitely worth thinking about.

I would love such a mod too...Horse, cow, sheep and camel Big Grin
If you could have a "column" of cows start running randomly when you pass over them just like the soldiers which jump and run away from trucks...but the infantry mod would be nice to have first...

cant believe someone actually posted about this, i was talking about how we could do this to the guys, get some cows in the game only the other week and last night. howlin can verify. crazy Big Grin
