no, it doesn't show on the plane. it changes the symbols displayed in the static campaign statistic screen.
there is no mod for kill markings appearing on the plane

If you want to place kill marks on your plane. Try a program called Paint victories. It permanently adds individual kills to your plane. So make a copy your airplane skin first. I cannot remmember where I got this program from. I think it was from Mision4today.
