B-17 Missions - viper1182 - 06.08.2009

I am currently working on a large-scale B-17 mission with the 17 flyable by players as well as P-51 escorts flyable by players. It will start about 20 min from the target at altitude and include attacks from Bf-109s' and 190s'. I am still trying to figure out how many bombers I can pack in without major frame rate hits.......The goal will be to have at least 75% of the bombers survive after leaving the target area. And of course, the flack will be heavy! I will keep everyone updated as to the progress. 8)

Thats more like it Viper, keep us informed mate. I know where the guys are coming from, im a 17 lover and we badly need a mission. I know what the guys mean about time to target, i had the old B-17 Flight sim where you had a brief and when the target tape streched all the way into Germany your heart sunk...yes according to the manual you could advance the time scale..But when you did this it completely blew your navigation, and all you kept getting is the pilot shouting was nav where are we, as in that sim if folks can remember YOU had to do everything, and as someone has already said, if you keep it on normal time it did in fact take me 4.5 hours to fly from britain to berlin only to get wiped out on the first pass from a 109. Well enough of my ranting, all the best with this project and im sure we will all be very grateful ...all the best Viper..Gary
