Its times like this when you fail to consider all the other things that comes in mind when making these planes.... Radar, guided weapons, HUD, etc....


Good luck putting all this into a 9-year old game engine that wasn't even designed for this.... And all of you wonder why people don't move past the Korean war for this Sim?? Simple, because to ACCURATELY model aircraft afterward is a GAME LIMITATION to this really old engine.

Go ahead and make this beast if you want, although don't expect many customers when it comes to authenticity.

If you do want to go into the Vietnam era then make something that isn't a Behemoth of planes and try for something like the Crusader or the F-4 Phantom. Those planes are planes that many people would like to fly. The problem I see with a Vietnam era on Il2 is (not to shoot you down, to make you think) is how the heck are you going to make heat seeking missiles in IL2. Yes we have the X-4 but that is a guided missile not a Seeker. The reason that people aren't shooting down the Korea mod is because it's not "Futuristic" (relative) to WWII and the fact that it doesn't need months of programing for a simple missile. People aren't shooting WWI mod down because it is something that hasn't been made since Red Baron II. And it is like a prequel to WWII like Korea is a sequel to WWII. I had to give my 2 cents.

Consider that I am making a plane at this moment.
I don't really think that making it's whole payload is a good idea( Mk-82's Cruise missiles, atomic bombs)

If I will make the plane I'll be happy.
As about those missiles.
If there's a function that let's you target the player, then just make the missiles target player and hit him. But HS missiles are not used in this plane I believe.

Well no offence mate, im not usually negative about new aircraft and stuff, but this is completely flawed. Firstly if you;ve never imported anything into IL2 you will struglle with this. ALOT. Also as previously said you will need so many new guages and effects createing this. Also yous say that you will create more aircraft so that this plane isnt in an era on its, which means Fighters. The Game engine states that aircraft can not break the speed of sound in IL2. Which is why the mig 9 is slower than it should be. Which means that this mod is completley pointless. Whats the point in having an F4 if you can't go fast....................

The people that have FM knowledge here is very very limited. I can think of nobody that would be willing to put their name on the FM for any Vietnam plane because they will not be accurate at all.

I believe that the speed of sound barrier can be changed. Of course changing it is against rules.

Modding of IL 2 has stopped at the stage when people started doing java.

It is not a big deal to lower B 52's speed, it's a bomber, not a fighter jet. It does not go super sonic.

Atleast, it is pointless to go supersonic. It's a strategic bomber.

As for the cockpit, I can give it B 25's cockpit, flight model can be based on Arado's and B29's.

The other guy started making Arado with 4 jet engines.
So in simple dive, that arado would reach supersonic too.

As I already told. I have no experience at modelling. And I won't ask any of the FM'ers about doing anything for me.
It is just funny, that you have to ask for scripting and stuff to about 5 people that know java and wait for them to respond because they are busy as hell when 100 people give them FM requests.
I know, teaching java will start a massive haxing and time warp, but seriously.
If you can't post public tutorials, then just teach people that are reliable, honest and normal.
You don't really need to keep it to yourself, and even the worst idiot can learn what program to use to edit java. You don't even need any epic knowledge, you just have to do the error/debug code. Just type some stuff and see if it works, if not then come back and change.

Srsly, people it would be easier to you if you had 20 people that know java, than about 5 or 7.


Also don't delete this post. I've only showed that it's not big deal to get knowledge to "HAXOMGJAVAOSHI--" even with those funny rules.

Just my 5 cents. Not trying to offend anyone.

That kind of mod isn't welcome here. AAA is know for its accurracy and sure as hell will not drop its standards for a VIETNAM bomber which will be on its own. Sorry mate, think you should find another game
