Even with textures 512x512 you cannot have the quality of those in 1024x1024 for the reading of instruments.
Tga 1024x1024 does not almost make the FPS fall, only the time of load of the game and the total weight of a repaint cockpit is affected.

Indeed, I agree on instruments. Still they are readable in stock-IL2.
But of course there is a reason, why its also 1024x1024 for SoW:BoB.

The lighting on a few guages is a little inconsistent, but overall it looks very detailed and is a huge improvement over the default. Solid work.
