ANNOUNCING
Ver 1.0 beta release 17 May 2009, 1st post updated with pics & download link. Feedback welcome. Still more work to do, but I'll be taking a break from map-making for a couple of weeks or so.

Got your map Salmo,,looks great, plays great.
I got 1 problem,,for some odd reason I can't put any moving ships into the water anywhere.
Stationary ships are fine,,but nothing moves in the oceans.
Anyone got an idea why this happened?
Thanks

A good start. Hopefully the jungle will be given some trees later on too.
I notice you have a lot of identical textures occupying different slots. If you can free up some of those spaces, you'll be able to create some customised textures for airfields and bases. It would do wonders for the overall look of the thing. Good luck with the project!

From the look of things the water is not deep enough. I opened up the map H & T tgas in Photoshop and compared the CMYK values of the ocean to the "water" bit of the Map_T color swatch that I have downloaded (thought I got it from this site but can't find it).
Salmo's water has CMYK values of 72,66,65,74 whereas the swatch CMYK values are 71,65,64,67. To test my theory I changed all the water to the swatch values in both maph & t and sure enough am now able to put moveable ships in.
This may also account for Salmo's problems with his reefs as mentioned in other posts.
Cheers
Quelty
PS If anyone wants the Map_T_Color_Swatch for Photoshop, you can get it ->
here (1KB)
Extract to your Photoshoproot/Presets/Color Swatches folder

your map did not work
the program is saying:
world.land().loadMap()error:java.lang.RuntimeException: Landscape `Sal_Truk/load.ini`loading error
I have the installer etc. and I only saw on missioneditor your mainmap - but the airfields are incorrect in water... and if go on the other looking position 3D, all is white and crazy...
Please help!

Yep, I plan to make a tree.tgha to randomly place some trees over the jungle texture.

Thanks mate, the duplicated textures in the load.ini slots are not used at the moment on the map, so plenty of slots to add more textures.

Can you check your mods/mapmods/maps/_Tex/land/Pacific folder & see if you have my textures in there. hould have Sal_JungleDense.tga & Sal_Swamp.tga & Sal_industryHeavy.tga
Other map texture come from the AAA UI 1.1 so you will need that pack installed

Thanks mate, I did have trouble placing shallow water & reefs as you say. Could you link a copy of the changed map_t & map_h so I can update the archive.

Looking good! Hopefully you won't be taking too long of a break from this map.

Installed in UI 11 ; can't set any ship object (moving ships only) on the map.

I had the same error: check if you made the line in the all.ini correct.
I copied a comma extra..
- MrGoldfinger - 20.05.2009
The line in my all.ini included at the last position: Sal_Truk Sal_Truk/load.ini
After this only the end-marking is follow. So, normally it must be work - but same
error
